'Dexter: Resurrection' serial killers: See Neil Patrick Harris as 'Tattoo Collector'
'Dexter: Resurrection' serial killers: See Neil Patrick Harris as 'Tattoo Collector' Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian are killers in 'Dexter' revival series 'Resurrection' Reborn vigilante Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) faces off against a Murderer's Row of serial killers in "Dexter: Resurrection." The "Dexter" revival series (first two episodes streaming on Paramount+ July 11) features beloved Hollywood stars earning sinister tabloid monikers, including "Doogie Howser, M.D." star Neil Patrick Harris (as "The Tattoo Collector") and "Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet (as "Rapunzel"). "Jessica Jones" star Krysten Ritter puts the chill into "Lady Vengeance," and David Dastmalchian ("The Suicide Squad") does double evil duty as "The Gemini Killer." The serial killers are summoned to New York for a MurderCon-style meetup with Charley (Uma Thurman), the head of security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage). "They don't all live in New York City, but let's say they've been invited there; it's a gathering," says "Dexter" creator and executive producer Clyde Phillips, who stocks "Resurrection" with new uber-villains. "This season is a unique launching pad for however many years this series will be going." Here's the new legion of "Dexter" doom: 'Dexter: Resurrection' miracle! Michael C. Hall returns from TV dead in Showtime series Neil Patrick Harris is Lowell, aka 'The Tattoo Collector': The successful anesthesiologist targets victims with tattoos to add to his grisly collection. Krysten Ritter is Mia, aka 'Lady Vengeance': A serial killer by night, sommelier by day, "Lady Vengeance" is vivacious and lives her life to the fullest, whether it's in her day job or her life on the hunt. Eric Stonestreet is Al, aka 'Rapunzel': Jolly and cordial, a Midwestern father of two, Al is the last person you'd ever expect to be a serial killer. But his bizarre need to strangle ponytailed women has left a trail of bodies that has terrified the country. David Dastmalchian is Gareth, aka 'The Gemini Killer': A brilliant mind with a devious need to kill people in pairs. He's been killing for years, leaving the FBI with zero clue of his true identity. But he's built such a name for himself that books, movies and podcasts detail his terrifying exploits. Wait, so 'Dexter' is alive again? Dexter survived what was clearly meant to be a permanent shotgun death, depicted in the January 2022 finale of "Dexter New Blood." In the 2024-25 "Dexter: Original Sin" prequel, which Hall's Dexter narrates, the barely alive serial killer is shown being rushed by ambulance to an upstate New York hospital. In "Resurrection," Dexter slips off to New York City as soon as his recovery allows, looking for his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), who also happens to be the guy who shot his dad upstate. Now that Hall has been reborn as Dexter for "Resurrection," Phillips plans to keep the franchise star alive as long as series renewals allow. That means the villains who come across Dexter in "Resurrection" won't fall to his signature Saran Wrap death right away. "One of these characters will end up being what we call 'The Big Baddie,' and they will be taken care of this season," says Phillips. The rest will have to wait their turn for a lethal faceoff, which could take "however many years we're going to be on. And really, that's up to Michael." How to watch the new 'Dexter: Resurrection'? The first two episodes stream on demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers on July 11, before airing on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 13 (8 EDT/PDT), then weekly on Sundays.

Shirtless James Corden unwinds with wife Julia Carey aboard a sprawling mega-yacht as couple holiday in Portofino ahead of his return to Broadway
James Corden was a long way from Barry Island on Monday as he relaxed with wife Julia Carey aboard a sprawling yacht on the Italian Riviera. The Gavin & Stacey star appeared to be enjoying a late spring break with Julia and a group of friends in picturesque Portofino - a popular holiday destination for the rich and affluent. Peeling off his shirt, Corden, 46, made the most of soaring coastal temperatures while unwinding on the chartered mega-yacht as it cruised the Mediterranean. Joining her husband, Julia, 49, caught the eye in a plunging white swimsuit as they idled on the boat's top deck. The couple were unwinding in Italy as Corden prepares to to make his return to Broadway this summer. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. He will star as Serge in a new production of ART, Yasmina Reza's comedy about friendship, ego and modern art. The limited 17-week run from August through December marks a much-anticipated return to the stage for Corden, who won a Tony Award for his performance in One Man, Two Guvnors in 2012. He will star opposite How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris and Jumanji's Bobby Cannavale. American theatre director Scott Ellis is set to helm the production. Ellis's past credits include Pirates! (or, Gilbert and Sullivan Plunder'd), English, and A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical. The role will mean extended time away from his family. Corden who lives in the UK with his wife Julia Carey, 48, and their three children, Max, 13, Carey, 10, and Charlotte, 7, will spend several weeks in New York for rehearsals ahead of the official run. A theatre insider told MailOnline: 'It's exciting to see James Corden return to the stage in ART - even if only for 90 minutes a night. 'While his recent turn in The Constituent at the Old Vic was somewhat underwhelming, this new production is sure to be one of Broadway's hottest tickets.' Corden was enjoying his latest overseas break as he prepares to to make his return to Broadway this summer ART, originally written in French and translated by Christopher Hampton, premiered in Paris in 1994 before transferring to London's West End and then Broadway, winning the Olivier, Tony, and Molière Awards for Best Play. The story centres on three friends - Serge, Marc, and Yvan - whose relationships are tested when Serge buys an expensive, entirely white painting. The play explores themes of taste, loyalty, and the fragile nature of male friendship. The news comes as The Mail on Sunday revealed that Corden - who spent eight years in Los Angeles hosting The Late Late Show before relocating to the UK last year - is now said to be weighing up a run for Mayor of London. Corden, who cemented himself as a household name playing Smithy in Gavin & Stacey, has been vocal about his political views but has always stopped shy of taking it further. However, at the BAFTA television awards, Corden was introduced to the hosts of the Electoral Dysfunction podcast and revealed his latest ambitions to Sky News' political editor Beth Rigby, former Labour deputy leader Harriet Harman and former Scottish Conservatives leader Ruth Davidson. An onlooker said: 'James told them he was a regular listener to their podcast and how much he enjoys the cut and thrust of politics. 'He clearly has a lot of respect for those who put themselves out there and run for office. 'And it was suggested that he should step into the political arena and stand in the future. There was talk that he should run for Mayor of London.' The current mayor, Sir Sadiq Khan, was first elected in 2016 and won a third term last year. Corden's representatives have been contacted for comment.

James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris and Bobby Cannavale Lead Broadway ‘Art'
Broadway's run of starry plays shows no signs of slowing down. James Corden, Neil Patrick Harris and Bobby Cannavale will return to Broadway in a late summer revival of 'Art,' a Yasmina Reza comedy that explores what happens to a three-way friendship when one of the men spends a lot of money on a painting that is mostly a white canvas. First staged in France in 1994, the show made it to Broadway in 1998, and won the Tony Award for best play that season. It has been widely staged in the years since its debut. The revival is scheduled to begin performances on Aug. 28 and to open Sept. 16 at the Music Box Theater. It is expected to run through Dec. 21. The new production will be directed by Scott Ellis, a Broadway regular who is currently serving as interim artistic director of Roundabout Theater Company and who directed this spring's production of 'Pirates! The Penzance Musical.' The show is being produced by Sand & Snow Entertainment, a company founded by Michael Shulman, as well as by ATG Productions, led by Adam Speers, and Gavin Kalin. This star-led production is the latest example of a growing trend: Broadway producers are turning to limited-run plays featuring TV and film celebrities because those shows seem more likely to succeed. At a time when almost every new musical is failing financially, six of this season's plays have already become profitable: 'Oh, Mary!,' 'All In: Comedy About Love,' 'Romeo + Juliet,' 'Othello,' 'Glengarry Glen Ross' and 'Good Night, and Good Luck.' Corden, Harris and Cannavale are not just stars of the big and small screen — all three are experienced and accomplished stage performers. Corden and Harris are both Tony winners — Corden in 2012 for 'One Man, Two Guvnors,' and Harris in 2014 for 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch.' Cannavale is a two-time Tony nominee.
