Burglars break into Minnesota bar closed since May fire, steal and cause damage originally appeared on Bring Me The News.
A sports bar that has been closed since a fire in May was burglarized last weekend.
Neisen's Riverside Sports Bar in St. Peter, closed since a fire on May 19, was broken into sometime between 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities believe an unknown number of people pried open a door and "removed copper pipes from the bathroom and utility room areas and copper wiring from the electrical panels and other areas."
The crooks also caused "extensive damage to an empty ATM," according to the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office.
"They cut all of our water lines off to get to the copper piping," a post on the sports bar's Facebook page reads. "They also ended up destroying our cash machine into multiple pieces. Along with all of our control panels."
Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call the sheriff's office at 507-357-4440.
