Supermarket catches cat thief who wouldn't stop nicking expensive food

A supermarket searching for a seasoned thief who was stealing their most expensive item found their culprit – a cheeky cat.
The feline shoplifter was caught on CCTV stealing dried fish by the kilo from the Icelandic chain Nettó.
A clip shared by the supermarket of the cat entering the store shows the four-legged thief climbing through the shutters.
After creeping through the shop, the hungry feline returns with a package of fish in its mouth.
It then drops the pack in front of the door as it tries to figure out how to negotiate its way back through the grills.
After fitting itself through the shutters, the cat is then shown sticking its head back through the shutters as it attempts to grab the fish and squeeze it through the small holes.
It tries several times to get the package out before appearing to give up and walk away.
The incident was recorded at the supermarket's store in Glæsibær, in the capital, Reykjavik.
Dried fish, known locally as Harðfisku, is a traditional delicacy in Iceland.
The supermarket wrote: 'Do you know the thief? We are looking for a seasoned fish thief who has made a habit of coming to the newly opened Nettó Glæsibær outside opening hours and has made repeated attempts to steal our most expensive kilo.
'Please let us know if you recognise this one.'
But in a follow-up post on Facebook, Nettó said that for the 'first and only time', staff rewarded the cat for stealing food by giving it fish.
Calling the feline Guðmundur Pedro, the store said: 'Such good taste for quality products cannot be ignored. More Trending
'Guðmundur Pedro received a gift basket and a big round of applause from the staff at Nettó in Glæsibær today, who really appreciate their most famous customer.'
Cats are, of course, well-known burglars of food.
