The Chicago Sky dropped to 2-6 during the 2025 WNBA season after an 85 to 66 loss against the New York Liberty on Tuesday evening. They now have an 0-2 record in the Commissioner's Cup.

2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese turned in her best performance of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She also shot 8-for-13 from the floor, recorded three assists and had two steals.
New head coach Tyler Marsh has also come under fire as the team has lost five contests by 13 points or more. Their lone wins are against the 1-10 Dallas Wings.

After suffering two straight losses against the Indiana Fever and the Liberty, the Sky sit at fifth place in the Eastern Conference and eleventh overall in the WNBA standings.
On Friday, ESPN released grades for each WNBA team through the first month of the 2025 season. Michael Voepel wrote about why the Sky received an "F."

"Under new coach Tyler Marsh, Chicago hasn't had much to be excited about. It wasn't projected to be a playoff team, but even so, things have been bleak," Voepel wrote. "The Sky's two wins have come against last-place Dallas. Their two losses to would-be rival Indiana were by a combined 62 points. They are next-to-last in scoring, offensive rating, defensive rating and net rating. They lead the league in turnovers at 17.8 per game."
Veteran guard Ariel Atkins has been leading the charge for Chicago this season, averaging 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Reese is also averaging 10.1 points and a league-leading 12.1 rebounds per game to lead the Sky.
Chicago's next game will take place on Friday evening against the 6-3 Atlanta Dream. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.
