Motorcyclist from Hudson, 24, killed in Pelham crash
A motorcyclist from Hudson was killed in a crash in Pelham on Wednesday morning, police said.
The crash, which involved a motorcycle and a van, happened at 6:48 a.m., Pelham police said.
Officers and other first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Mammoth and Nashua roads for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.
Upon arrival, police determined a motorcycle and a van collided at the intersection. The operator of the 2017 Harley-Davidson Dyna motorcycle, identified by police as Pantelis Patistas, 24, of Hudson, was found unresponsive.
Pelham police and fire personnel performed life-saving measures at the scene but were unsuccessful, officials said. Patistas was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The other vehicle involved was a 2017 Chevy Express van, driven by Jake Doyle, 22, of Londonderry, Pelham Police said.
Doyle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, officials said.
A preliminary investigation determined the motorcycle was driving north on Mammoth Road, with the van traveling south on Mammoth Road and was in the process of taking a left turn onto Nashua Road when the two vehicles collided.
'Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash,' Pelham Police said in a statement.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is assisting with the investigation.
