One fun fact for each pick in the Saints' NFL draft class
The New Orleans Saints had their largest NFL draft class in the last 10 years. By this point you've familiarized yourself with their stat sheet. You know how many yards, tackles, touchdowns these players have, but here are a fun fact about each player in the Saints' draft class. Some you may have heard before, and others may catch you off guard.
Kelvin Banks Jr., Round 1
Banks ran an Instagram series where he tried various BBQ restaurants in Austin, which the city is known for. Maybe he'll do something similar in New Orleans.
Tyler Shough, Round 2
Shough played with Saints tight end Juwan Johnson at Oregon for a year.
Vernon Broughton, Round 3
First-year Saints defensive line coach, Bo Davis, coached Broughton from 2021 to 2023 at Texas.
Jonas Sanker, Round 3
Sanker played 8-man football in high school, lining up as a quarterback and safety.
Danny Stutsman, Round 4
Stutsman was awarded the Don Key Award which is considered the highest honor for an Oklahoma player.
Quincy Riley, Round 4
Riley was the South Carolina Boys Track Player of the Year in 2019, having taken first place in both the 100-meter dash (10.48 seconds) and the 200 (21.37 seconds).
Devin Neal, Round 6
Neal wears No. 4 because of Dalvin Cook and T.J. Yeldon, two running backs he tried to model his game after at Kansas.
Moloki Matavao, Round 7
Matavao is the first UCLA Bruin drafted by the Saints in 21 years, since defensive tackle Rodney Leisle back in 2004.
Fadil Diggs, Round 7
Diggs was the New Jersey Player of the Year in 2019 as a two-way player, lining up at both edge rusher and wide receiver.
