Free concert to benefit local veterans and first responders
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A country music star is stopping in Binghamton to put on a performance for veterans and first responders.
Jason Michael Carroll is coming to Otsiningo Park on May 30 for the Broome County Salutes our Veterans and First Responders concert.
Carroll has previously played at the Spiedie Festival and throughout his career, has been dedicated to honoring those who have served.
After hearing about the tragic death of Binghamton firefighter John 'JR' Gaudet, Carroll contacted Spiedie Fest Event Coordinator Dave Pessagno and said he wanted to put on a benefit show for local active military, veterans, and first responders.
Pessagno says there will also be food trucks, vendors, hot air balloons, and more. He encourages the community to come out and support the cause.
'Whether it's the fire department, ambulance crews, police, sheriff's, state police, local agencies, local fire departments. Every day they may get a call, and you never know what can happen. So, it's time we step up and have a fun night for everybody,' said Pessagno.
The concert will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.
Opening acts include local favorites Jared Campbell and Wreckless Marci.
Tickets are free for active military, veterans, and first responders. General admission is $10. To purchase, visit the Broome County Arena Box Office or go to
