Jerry Jones Critic Stubbornly Creates New Micah Parsons Contract Theory
Jerry Jones Critic Stubbornly Creates New Micah Parsons Contract Theory originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
FRISCO - No doubt Jerry Jones is stubborn. But some of his irrational critics are even more so.

Front and center, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.
It was just a month ago when Florio mocked the Dallas Cowboys owner for not living up to his hype of a "substantive" trade being in the works.
"Fans and media have begun to wake up to the notion that Cowboys owner and G.M. Jerry Jones is more carnival barker than trophy chaser," he wrote. "It's not about winning, it's about being interesting. And he always finds ways to be interesting."
That's quite the accusation, essentially claiming that the Hall-of-Fame owner with three Super Bowl rings doesn't care about winning football games.
Worse, when Jones pulled off the trade for receiver George Pickens it was somehow still wasn't enough for Florio. Instead of crediting him for making a deal for a No. 2 receiver, Florio twisted it into a new criticism.

"Regardless of how it plays out," Florio wrote, "owner/G.M. Jerry Jones has added another spinning plate to his endless collection of incomplete contracts."
Sounds to us like Florio may be the hard-headed one, refusing to apologize to Jones and now concocting another ridiculous premise when it comes to Micah Parsons.
Jones signed quarterback Dak Prescott to his mega contract last season just days before the Week 1 opener. Florio's theory is that the delay wasn't because of negotiations, but rather publicity.
"There are many reasons why the Cowboys have gone 30 years without an appearance in the NFC Championship," Florio writes. "One very real reason is the chronic stubbornness of owner Jerry Jones to pay his core players sooner than later.

"Our guess? He knows it. And he'd rather have the latest unsettled contract become the top story for sports media than to see his team benefit from the relative irrelevance of peace."
Again, this a damning contention: Accusing Jones of sabotaging Parsons' happiness and the team's locker room chemistry all for a couple of headlines.
Jerry is a master marketer. To us, it's impressive he's kept his team popular and profitable during an almost 30-year Super Bowl drought.
To continue to say he doesn't care about winning is preposterous and, yes, stubborn.
