Ohio gas prices essentially unchanged from last week: See how much here
State gas prices are essentially unchanged for the second consecutive week at an average of $3.00 per gallon of regular fuel on Monday, approximately the same as last week's price, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The average fuel price in state slightly rose about 3 cents since last month. According to the EIA, gas prices across the state in the last year have been as low as $2.75 on March 3, 2025, and as high as $3.58 on July 29, 2024. The average gas price in the United States last week was $3.16, making prices in the state about 4.9% lower than the nation's average. The average national gas price is slightly lower than last week's average of $3.17 per gallon. Unemployment claims in South Dakota increased last week
Initial filings for unemployment benefits in South Dakota rose last week compared with the week prior, the U.S. Department of Labor said Thursday. New jobless claims, a proxy for layoffs, increased to 159 in the week ending May 10, up from 157 the week before, the Labor Department said. U.S. unemployment claims remained the same at 229,000 last week on a seasonally adjusted basis. Massachusetts saw the largest percentage increase in weekly claims, with claims jumping by 82.3%. New Hampshire, meanwhile, saw the largest percentage drop in new claims, with claims dropping by 59.2%.
