Person steals truck, $11k in tequila from Spartanburg liquor store
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Officers in Spartanburg are investigating after someone used a stolen truck to break into a liquor store and steal thousands of dollars in alcohol early Tuesday morning.
According to the Spartanburg Police Department, an officer arrived on scene at Nick's Liquor Store on 720 Hayne Street around 3:39 a.m. in reference to a business alarm call. Once there, the officer said they saw the front glass door of the business shattered.
The police department said the owner of the business was able to access security footage of the incident. In the footage, officers said they saw a white Dodge pickup truck with SC tag 9106JJ back up to the front of the business, and an individual wearing a hoodie and a face mask throw a brick through the door.
Once the door was shattered, the individual took several boxes of liquor and drove away from the store toward to intersection of Franklin Street and Fairfax Street, according to reports. The truck is then seen turning around and driving back to the store where the individual takes more boxes of liquor and other individual bottles before leaving the scene for the final time.
Further investigation uncovered the truck used in the theft was reported stolen from a property on Milliken Street hours later.

The preliminary total of stolen items it $11,112.49. The total is not final as the owner still needs to take inventory of the damages.
