Virgin Island faces huge schedule change ahead of most 'outrageous' episode yet
Virgin Island has been pushed back in the schedules ahead of its penultimate episode this evening as the Channel 4 show begins to wrap up its controversial first series Channel 4's Virgin Island is set to air at a later time than usual this evening ahead of the controversial series' most outrageous episode yet. The show welcomes 12 virgins to a tropical island where professional Celeste Hirschman and Dr. Danielle Harel lead them through exercises in the hopes of raising their self-esteem - and potentially helping them have sex for the first time. Tonight's episode is set to see the Virgin Island experts teach their inexperienced cast how to achieve an orgasm in the penultimate stage of the experimental retreat. Meanwhile, the experts also demonstrate spanking in a sex position lesson with the aim of raising their confidence in the bedroom. In one clip of the show shared by the Mail Online, Danielle demonstrates the exercise with Zac, who volunteers himself. When Zac jumps on the bed, wanting to move into the "starting position", Danielle tells him: "Starting position is relax," while the rest of the group laugh. After taking a few moments to connect, Danielle describes them locking eyes as "sexy", while Zac responds: "Very. I'm a lucky boy!" After trying all of the sex positions that were previously demonstrated, Danielle then asks him: "Wanna try a little smack?" The racy contents of tonight's episode could be the reason for it being moved back in the schedules, with Virgin Island due to start at 10pm instead of its usual Monday night slot of 9pm. It has been replaced by Night Coppers, which aired last week at 10pm. Tonight's episode is also set to be slightly longer, with the runtime being an hour and five minutes instead of the usual hour. The series premiered two weeks ago on Channel 4 - and took some viewers by surprise with its eye-popping sexual scenes. They took to social media as the first episodes debuted, with one writing: "What the hell is this?" Another added: "What. The. Actual. F**k.?!?!" A third wrote: "It feels wrong to be watching this." Another viewer shared: "This is just getting disturbingly weird now." "Anyone else a bit creeped out by this show?" asked one viewer. Ahead of the show airing, producer Robert Davis admitted that he feared the contestants would quit on the first day due to the show's controversial methods. 'I was obviously terrified that they were going to leave the island straight away. It's a TV first and nobody really knows what's going to go on,' he said. 'Our biggest worry was how are they going to take to the therapy. What we actually got was a little bit of scepticism at first but gradually as the process went on, they fell more in love with the therapy and it ended up being transformational.' Virgin Island airs tonight at 10pm on Channel 4.
