‘Wheel of Fortune' contestant flubs Disney lyrics puzzle — and immediately realizes her mistake
A 'Wheel of Fortune' contestant seemingly knew where she went wrong after incorrectly guessing the lyrics to a popular Disney song. During the March 25 episode of 'Wheel of Fortune,' a contestant named Nikol incorrectly guessed the answer to a 12-word puzzle that had one missing letter left. As seen in an Instagram clip posted by the 'Wheel of Fortune' account, the puzzle board read: 'See the line where the s_y meets the sea it calls me.' Nikol put her best foot forward, guessing, 'See the line where the ... soy meets the sea it calls me?' The correct answer was 'where the sky meets the sea' from the hit song 'How Far I'll Go' in the Disney film 'Moana.' When the show's host Ryan Seacrest told Nikol her guess was incorrect, she reacted with disappointment before staring at the puzzle in bewilderment, seeming to realize the correct answer. 'Oh my God!' she exclaimed with a gasp, putting her hands on her face as Seacrest smirked. 'That scream you hear is Nikol's soul leaving her body ...' the 'Wheel of Fortune' account captioned the clip shared on March 25. Some fans were in disbelief at Nikol's incorrect guess. 'She clearly doesn't have a young daughter who's obsessed with Moana,' one commenter wrote on the post. 'I have NO idea where this is from but c'mon said another. Other fans were quick to defend Nikol, whose mess-up moment under the bright lights felt relatable. 'Well it was cute. I'd probably forget my own name on WOF,' wrote a 'Wheel of Fortune' fan defending the contestant. 'Bahahhaha, but to be fair, I'd probably mess up epically too with all those lights and cameras on me,' another fan wrote in Nikol's defense. Nikol's 'soy' puzzle mistake is one of many memorable incorrect guesses on the game show that are coincidentally food-related. In a food-related mistake in December 2024, one contestant flopped on their puzzle guess, which read 'Chocolate Chestnuts and Chi_ne_s.' He guessed 'chickens' rather than 'chimneys.' Later that same month, another incident occurred when a contestant guessed 'New York Cheesesteak' instead of 'New York Cheesecake,' prompting a commenter to call the attempt a 'new all-time horrible answer.'

Nikol, a recent contestant on "Wheel of Fortune," made such an "embarrassing" mistake on the game show that she surprised herself. On Tuesday night's episode, Nikol was competing in the Song Lyrics category and the phrase was 12 words. She and her fellow contestants had gotten the puzzle nearly solved, with only one letter missing. "See the line where the s-y meets the sea, it calls me" were the lyrics that Nikol was working with. "Wheel of Fortune" host Ryan Seacrest reminded Nikol that the phrase did not contain any more vowels. She quickly filled in the missing letter with an "O," creating the word, "Soy." "No, that's not it," Seacrest said, while someone in the audience could be heard exclaiming "Oh!" Nikol immediately gasped and brought her hands to her head. "Oh my God!" she blurted out. The correct lyrics of the song "How Far I'll Go" from the movie "Moana" are, "See the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls me." A clip of Nikol's moment was shared on the official "Wheel of Fortune" Instagram page. Fans quickly weighed in on Nikol's "embarrassing" slip-up. "How embarrassing!" one user commented.
