ISP asking for public's help after suspect stole cop car
HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Indiana State Police detectives are asking the public's help in relation to an incident on Monday.
ISP is asking for pictures and/or video that may have been captured leading up to, during or after an incident where a suspect stole a police officer's car in Chandler before crashing outside of Owensboro.
State police chase stolen cruiser from Indiana to Kentucky
ISP is calling it an 'officer involved shooting' on Heim Road between Inderrieden Road and SR 62 when someone called 911 reporting the suspect, later identified as Nina Adaline Devillez, 31, of Santa Claus, was traveling west and operating in a reckless manner.
After a brief chase, ISP says Devillez crashed, and a confrontation happened that resulted in Devillez being shot before managing to drive away in the officer's patrol car.
Detectives believe Devillez traveled SR 62 to Boonville and possibly used various county roads east of Boonville to Spencer County before getting onto US 231 where a second chase started near CR 350 North. That led into Kentucky and ended near US 60 and Terminal Road.
Officials say one county road that the suspect traveled was Maurer Road in Warrick County. Detectives are encouraging homeowners in Warrick and Spencer counties to check home security cameras that may have captured video of a black 2022 Ford Explorer or any other suspicious activity related to the incident. Officials also say the police vehicle may or may not have had emergency lights on.
If one has pictures and or video of Devillez, Devillez's vehicle or the Chandler Police patrol vehicle after the shooting, click here to download the picture or video.
