The day Nintendo fans have been waiting on for months is finally here, the new Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console released on Thursday, June 5.

The Nintendo Switch 2 was announced on April 2, available for pre-order on April 24 and released in stores this week, on Thursday, June 5.

There are quite a few differences between the first and second Nintendo Switch. The gaming console itself has a bigger screen and can play in up to 4K resolution on TVs that are capable of 4K.
'Support for HDR and frame rates up to 120 fps let you enjoy vivid color, clarity, and smooth gameplay,' Ninetendo's website says.
The Switch Joy-Con controllers also got an upgrade, with magnetic connectors that click it into place on the dock. And according to Nintendo, each controller can even be used as a mouse in some games. There are also some games that you can only play on the Switch 2.

The console also has a faster loading time, more storage and online chatting features.

In March 2017, the original Switch was launched at a retail price of $299.99.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is more expensive at $449.99. In April, Nintendo said that while the price for the gaming console will stay the same, the accessories could see price changes from the prices announced – due to changes in market conditions.
