This has always been a wish of the millions of the PS5 users, as the game has been available on Xbox Series X/S and Windows only. The game serves as a sequel to Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which was released in 2017. This 2024 action-adventure title is set in 9th century's Iceland, which is based on Norse mythology. Players need to fulfil the role of a Celtic warrior named Senua, who fights with her made up demons in her mind as real-life enemies. When is Senua's Sage Hellblade 2 coming to PS5? Developer Ninja Theory has announced that Senua's Saga Hellblade 2 is coming to PS5 and PS5 Pro this summer. The most interesting fact is that Xbox and PC users will also get this update, that too for absolutely free. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II Comes to PlayStation 5 This Summer However, there hasn't been any specific detail revealed by the developers on these additional features. Also, Ninja Theory is yet to reveal the exact release date of the Enhanced Edition update on all the platforms. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like ตลาดหุ้นกำลังส่งสัญญาณว่าอยู่ในช่วงขาลง? The normal edition is currently priced at $49.99 on Windows and Xbox. For PS5 users, it's believed to be the same as well because despite having a stunning narrative display, the game is only 7 hours long. So, Ninja Theory might not want to trigger the hype yet again by increasing the price. However, this small gameplay journey is the reason fans never felt tedious while playing the game, yet experienced Senua's mental tolls in an immersive way. PS5 players would have gotten this port on the same day of the game's launch, but Windows acquired Ninja Theory back in 2018. However, there's a saying, 'better late than never.' And the good part is that a superior version Hellblade 2 is coming to PS5. Fun part is that, the game is now available on the Xbox Game Pass as well. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is coming to PS5 this summer

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is coming to PS5 this summer , though we don't have a concrete release date just yet. Ninja Theory says it will be optimized for both the standard-issue PS5 and the beefier PS5 Pro. The company also says it launches alongside a free update that'll be available for all platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. We don't know much about this update, but the developer promises "new features." There's a trailer that discusses the update, but is also devoid of any real details. This is something of a homecoming for the franchise, as Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was originally released for PS4 back in 2017. Ninja Theory says it's "excited to bring Senua back to where her journey began and for PlayStation players to be able to experience the next chapter in her brutal saga of survival." For the uninitiated, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is a brutal and gorgeous game that first hit the Xbox and PC in 2024. It's a third-person adventure set in Iceland during the 10th century. We called it an outstanding "interactive brutality visualizer" in our original review, going on to say it features "an extended, extremely anxious and violent vibe." Good times! The combat is decent, though not groundbreaking, and the puzzles are just average. The sheer violence, however, is epic. The protagonist Senua screams with each swing of the sword and every fight is close combat. This is for those who revel in simulated physical violence. We'll let you know when we have an actual summer release date for this gem.

Hellblade II is the latest Xbox game coming to PS5 this summer

Microsoft's Ninja Theory studio is bringing Senua's Saga: Hellblade II to the PS5 'this summer.' Set in a dark ninth-century Iceland, Hellblade II originally debuted on Xbox Series S / X and PC last year, and it's now making its way to Sony's console just over a year later. Hellblade II is the latest Xbox game to make its way to PS5 this year, with Microsoft bringing Forza Horizon 5 to Sony's rival console soon, alongside Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and the Age of Mythology: Retold release on PS5 in March. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also arrived on PS5 this spring, with Doom: The Dark Ages following on May 15th. The original Gears of War is also coming to PS5 in August as a remastered version, and Microsoft also released its Oblivion remaster on PS5 recently. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is coming to PlayStation 5 this summer with some exciting new features. These features will also be available at the same time as a free update for players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC and Steam. We look forward to sharing more details soon. — Ninja Theory (@NinjaTheory) May 21, 2025 The original Hellblade was a timed console exclusive for the PS4 in 2017, before it arrived on Xbox One the following year. Hellblade II is part of Microsoft's wave of Project Latitude titles, which see the software giant evolving the Xbox platform to bring more games to rival platforms. I revealed last year that Hellblade II was under consideration for a PS5 release, alongside other titles like Gears of War, Halo: Combat Evolved, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Microsoft is also working on some Xbox ports for Nintendo's Switch 2, which I expect we'll hear about soon.

Xbox exclusive with best graphics ever is getting enhanced on PS5 Pro

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is the latest first party Xbox game to come to the PS5 and this time a special effort is being made with its already excellent graphics. The annoucement of previously exclusive Xbox games coming to PlayStation 5 is becoming increasingly commonplace but so far none of them have been anything more than straightforward ports, with no enhancements or additions beyond DualSense support. A PlayStation 5 version of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 was rumoured earlier in the year (along with an already confirmed version of Gears Of War) but according to Microsoft it will be optimised for both the standard PlayStation 5 and the more powerful PS5 Pro. They're currently being vague as to what difference this will make but it will coincide with a free update for Xbox Series X/S and PC that will add new features to all versions of the game. As we explored in our original review, Hellblade 2 isn't a very good video game, but it does have perhaps the best graphics ever seen in a console title, at least in terms of photorealism. Things can always be improved though, especially with the benefit of hindsight, and the PS5 Pro is the most powerful console ever made, even if its abilities haven't really been stretched so far. Unfortunately, the annoucement of Hellblade 2 for PlayStation 5 is vague across the board, with the release date confirmed only as sometime this summer. That means It will likely appear as part of the Xbox summer showcase, on June 8, although that's not entirely guaranteed as Microsoft continues to be very reticent about talking about multiformat releases in public. Not only that but the pretence of supporting the Switch 2 has so far added up to nothing at all and Hellblade 2 is also not coming to Nintendo's new console, although in this case it is unlikely the Switch 2 could handle the game and have it look anywhere near as good as the Xbox version. More Trending That said, the original Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was released on both PlayStation 4 and Switch, before Microsoft bought developer Ninja Theory in 2018. As the developers point out on their website, the studio got its first big break working on PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, back in 2007. There had been some concern that Hellblade 2 had performed poorly on Xbox and PC, in terms of sales and Game Pass usage, and that it might put Ninja Theory at risk of being shut down. But not only are they working on a horror project codenamed Project: Mara, they're also helping out with Microsoft's attempts to use generative AI in video games. Yet another prestigious Xbox exclusive is coming to PS5

The award-winning Xbox exclusive Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is branching out and coming to PlayStation 5 this summer. Developed by Ninja Theory, Hellblade II picks up after the first game, following the titular character into a richly detailed world of Viking myth and lore. Dom Matthews, studio head at Ninja Theory, announced the news today via a YouTube video. 'Today, on the one-year anniversary of the release of Senua's Sage: Hellblade II, we're excited to share some news with you on the game,' he says. 'We're so happy to tell you, our fans, that Hellblade II will be coming to PlayStation 5 this summer. This version of the game will include some new features that will also come to Xbox and PC at the same time as an update.' Recommended Videos The original Hellblade was available on PlayStation 4, but Xbox acquired Ninja Theory in 2018. The sequel was slated as an Xbox exclusive, but the studio says it is pleased to bring its PlayStation fans back to Senua's ongoing story. Ninja Theory didn't specify what the enhanced features would include, but don't worry. They're coming to existing platforms as part of an update with the launch of the PlayStation 5 version of the game. Both Hellblade games have positioned themselves amid a brutal world and used that setting to explore mental health. Rather than focusing on over-the-top gameplay, Hellblade II takes a more narrative approach and tells a tightly-focused story in roughly seven hours or so of playtime. The title's focus on narrative won it a nomination for Best Narrative and Games for Impact at The Game Awards, and it brought home the prize for Best Audio Design and Best Performance by its lead voice artist. Use of binaural audio means different sounds play in different ears, and the quiet whispers of voices that aren't there, combined with Senua's sometimes ragged breathing, make the series one of the best depictions of serious mental health issues ever seen in video games.
