Wallace Subaru donates $33k to Niswonger Children's Hospital

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City car dealership donated more than $33,000 to the region's only children's hospital on Tuesday. Wallace Subaru of Johnson City and Subaru of America gave Niswonger Children's Hospital a check for $33,485 as part of the dealership's annual Subaru Share the Love Campaign. BrightRidge pauses any new data center projects According to the dealership, $375 was donated to the hospital every time a customer bought or leased a new Subaru and chose the hospital as their charity of choice. The donations were made from Nov. 21, 2024 to Jan. 2, 2025. TC Baker, the general manager of Wallace Subaru of Johnson City, told News Channel 11 that $5 was also donated for every oil change at the dealership. 'My family, my wife and I, we have a child that has used Niswonger Children's Hospital,' Baker said. 'Until you've, I think in our community, until you've used the facility [or] had a need for it, you don't realize what a blessing it is for us to have a facility like this near us. So my wife and Have been going there for years with a child, and this is just one small way that we can try to give back.' Niswonger Children's Hospital serves 29 counties in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, Western North Carolina and Southeast Kentucky. 'This is literally where the rubber meets the road when it comes to local businesses who support local children's hospitals,' said Seth Brown, the chief medical officer for Niswonger Children's Network. JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — In addition to a new neonatal transport unit, Niswonger Children's Hospital also unveiled upgrades inside the facility. Niswonger Radiothon raises $630K for neonatal transport unit A new clinic has been established on the first floor of the hospital to provide more space for patient care. Niswonger Children's Hospital cares for children across 29 counties. The hospital offers care in five sub-specialties. 'We've been very grateful to have this and be able to provide this care to our most at-risk kiddos in the region,' Tarah Orcutt, Niswonger Children's Hospital director of operations, said. 'So it's been a really great project, and we're very happy that it's now completed and beautiful.' Notice dust on your vehicle Friday?
