Nivin Pauly is joining the cast of Benz, which stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead, as the makers made the announcement through a character promo video. Produced by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film is the latest entrant in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe after Kaithi and Vikram. Twin Fish Walter, as his character is named, Nivin appears with a bloodied face and a red robe with golden-coloured fishes stitched into it. Talking to another character, also played by him, he struggles to recount the name 'Benz', which could possibly be Raghava Lawrence's character.

Lokesh Kanagaraj's ever-growing cinematic universe (LCU) is gearing up for its next chapter with Benz, a high-octane action thriller starring Raghava Lawrence. The film has already caught fans' attention with its slick first-look posters. In the latest update, all eyes are now on the villain reveal. According to the ongoing buzz, it might be Malayalam star Nivin Pauly stepping into the dark side. The makers, G Squad, teased the casting surprise on social media ahead of their June 4 announcement. Dropping a cheeky clue, they wrote, 'You are 'N'ot Ready for this. That's it. That's the clue. #BenzCastReveal Tomorrow." While they stopped short of naming names, fans were quick to connect the dots, with many speculating that the 'N" points straight to Nivin Pauly. If confirmed, this would mark Nivin's first major role in the LCU and possibly his Tamil return in a powerful negative role, a genre shift that could shake things up in the universe built by Lokesh. Though the makers have shared a shadowy glimpse of the mysterious antagonist, buzz is strong that Nivin Pauly is the man behind the menace. Directed by Remo fame Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film is part of the ever-growing Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU). Though Lokesh isn't directing this time, he's still deeply involved, co-writing the script and co-producing it under his own banner. Benz marks the fourth film in the LCU, after Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. What makes Benz stand out is that it's the first film in this universe not to be directed by Lokesh himself. The female lead is played by Vaathi star Samyuktha, and there's another exciting debut on the cards — AA22 composer Sai Abhyankkar is making his big break as the music director for the film. Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is working on his next directorial project, Coolie, starring none other than Rajinikanth. Set to release on August 14, 2025, Coolie also features big names like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir. Rumours are also swirling about a cameo from Aamir Khan. On the other side, Malayalam star Nivin Pauly, who is rumoured to be playing the main villain in Benz, has wrapped up filming for Baby Girl. The makers of director Bakkiyaraj Kannan 's eagerly awaited action thriller 'Benz', featuring actor Raghava Lawrence in the lead, on Wednesday announced that actor Nivin Pauly would play the antagonist's character of Walter in the film. Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, who took to his X timeline to share the link to a character promo that the makers released on Wednesday, wrote, "Soft boy? That was yesterday. Nivin Pauly 2.0-our certified Baddie, Breaking hearts and Breaking rules & Breaking bad. Meet #Walter, @nivinofficial." The character promo which the makers released begins with sounds emanating from a room as if somebody is getting bludgeoned there. Soon, Nivin Pauly, with his body decked in gold ornaments and carrying a huge metal hammer from which bloods seems to be dripping, walks out. The film has triggered huge interest as ace director Lokesh Kanakaraj is producing this film along with Sudhan Sundaram, and Jagadish Palanisamy. From the character promo, one gets the impression that Nivin Pauly plays two characters in the film. Written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the film has music by young music sensation Sai Abhyankkar. Cinematography for the film is by Goutham George and editing is by Philomin Raj. Art direction for the film has been done by Jacki while Pradeep Boopathi is serving as the creative producer. Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe, aka LCU, is expanding with the Raghava Lawrence starrer Benz, and the makers have recently dropped a massive cast update regarding the same. In the latest announcement, Malayalee star Nivin Pauly will be playing the main antagonist in the upcoming venture. The cast update shared by the makers had a promo video featuring Nivin in a menacing and chaotic avatar, unlike anything he has done before. With a blood-filled look on his face, scruffy hair, and gold teeth, he has introduced himself as Walter. What came as a surprise is that the Premam actor would be donning dual roles in the movie, the other being a soft-spoken and seemingly illiterate man. As the former character gears up for his clash with Benz - a masked vigilante, he calls himself a man with 'dirty mind, beautiful heart…deadly combination.'
