French Open Day 11 Live Updates: Madison Keys, Coco Gauff in battle of champions
Just when it seemed that Coco Gauff was down and out in the first set against Madison Keys, the World No.2 has stormed back. After being 1-4 down with the danger of a 1-4 trail, Gauff has earned two breaks on the trot to make it 4-4. Can Gauff hold on, or will Keys bounce back? Coco Gauff has struggled with her serve until now as Madison Keys has earned three breaks of serve in the quarterfinal. Out of three times, Gauff hasn't held her serve even once. It's going pear-shaped for the World No.2 on Centre Court. Kyes on the march, leading 4-1 in the first set. The roller-coaster ride in the quarterfinal continues as none of Coco Gauff and Madison Keys have been able to hold serve. Gauff earned the break back after dropping her serve early, but Keys again went on top with her second break of serve. The start has already kept both players on their toes, and it remains to be seen how they respond. Just when Coco Gauff was under pressure, she has responded brilliantly against Madison Keys in the quarters. Gauff earned the break of serve to make it 1-1 in the opening set on Centre Court. Madison Keys has drawn first blood at Court Philippe Chatrier. She is already a break up with a 1-0 lead. Coco Gauff under the pump right away and needs to get the break back at the earliest to stay alive in the set. In a battle of Grand Slam champions, Coco Gauff and Madison Keys will be up against each other in the first match of the day on Centre Court. Keys might have the psychological advantage, being 3-2 up on the head-to-head count against Gauff. The last time they met on clay, Keys defeated Gauff 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 at the Madrid Open. Court Philippe-Chatrier (matches start at 2:30 PM IST, 11:00 AM GMT) Madison Keys v Coco Gauff Lois Boisson v Mirra Andreeva Jannik Sinner v Alexander Bublik Novak Djokovic v Alexander Zverev

Why new Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty 'wasn't willing' to give up No. 2 jersey
Why new Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty 'wasn't willing' to give up No. 2 jersey Show Caption Hide Caption Ashton Jeanty paid six figures to fellow Raider for number 2 USAT's Tyler Dragon asks about the amount of money new Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty paid for his number 2. Sports Seriously The number two is extremely important to Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty. 'It just means a lot to me and my family. A lot of my family who played sports wore No. 2,' Jeanty told USA TODAY Sports, during a promotional appearance with Sharpie. 'Then I was born on December 2. The legacy, the greatness, and I was born that day. There's just a lot of meaning behind it. And for the brand, I wasn't willing to give it up.' Jeanty wore No. 2 at Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas, and at Boise State, where he became the school's all-time leading rusher, achieved the second-highest single-season rushing total in FBS history and was a Heisman Trophy finalist. When the Raiders selected Jeanty in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, he wanted to wear No. 2 at all costs. Literally. Jeanty negotiated with Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson for the number. Carlson had worn No. 2 for the past five seasons. The kicker sported No. 8 when he first joined the Raiders in 2018 but changed to No. 2 to accommodate Marcus Mariota when the QB arrived. Fast forward to now, Carlson is going back to No. 8 because Jeanty paid a hefty price for the number. Jeanty told Kay Adams this week on "Up and Adams" that he paid six figures for the number. The running back confirmed the price tag to USA TODAY Sports. 'It's true,' Jeanty said. Jeanty wouldn't specify the exact amount he paid for his beloved number, but the running back did say Carlson could purchase a luxury car. 'He could buy a nice Mercedes,' a smiling Jeanty said. The Raiders officially signed Jeanty to his rookie contract on May 8. His contract is worth a total value of $35.9 million, so it's safe to say he could afford the six-figure amount he paid Carlson. Ashton Jeanty paid Daniel Carlson a hefty price to secure the No. 2
Ashton Jeanty's nickname is 'Deuce' for the jersey number he has worn in his career, including last season at Boise State when he became a Heisman finalist. 'I've worn it the majority of my career,' Jeanty told Kay Adams this week on Up and Adams. 'It's the day greatness was born, the day I was born — December 2. It's a family number. All my family members who played sports, they wore No. 2.' So, having another number in the NFL, didn't exactly fit his narrative. That's why Jeanty paid what he had to pay to kicker Daniel Carlson, who has worn No. 2 for the past five seasons with the Raiders. 'You could probably buy a house,' Jeanty told Adams. 'Actually, I'm not going to say a house. You could buy a car, like a nice Mercedes.' Jeanty wouldn't say exactly what he paid but did allow that some of the money will go to charity. He added that the total cost he paid was the cost of a Mercedes GLE, so he spent something over $60,000. When he asked for No. 2, Jeanty said Raiders equipment manager Bob Romanski sent him to Carlson. Carlson switched from No. 8 to No. 2 in 2020 when Marcus Mariota arrived and asked Carlson for No. 8. 'I called him and I'm like, 'I'm trying to get that No. 2. I'm willing to negotiate whatever you're thinking,'' Jeanty said. 'I gave him what I was thinking first. Then, he came back, and I'm like, 'I've got to do it. I got to drop that little bag for No. 2.'' So, the Deuce brand lives on, with Carlson switching back to No. 8.

NFL Draft 2025: Everything you need to know about Travis Hunter, the 2-way star who could change the game in Jacksonville
Travis Hunter is one of the most unique prospects the NFL Draft has ever seen. A two-way player, Hunter saw significant time at both wide receiver and cornerback throughout college. He excelled in both roles, potentially solving a number of questions for his next team. His versatility and production make Hunter one of the best — if not the best — prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter didn't go No. 1 overall as that honor went to Miami QB Cam Ward, but he could be the most talented player in the draft. It's why the Jacksonville Jaguars made a bold move to trade up in the draft with the Cleveland Browns to land the talented Hunter. Given his one-of-a-kind skillset, here's everything NFL fans need to know about Hunter. A top recruit coming out of high school, Hunter initially committed to play college football for the Florida State Seminoles. He flipped his commitment to Jackson State, however, after Deion Sanders was named the team's head coach. It was considered a massive win for Sanders and Jackson State at the time. Hunter played both ways as a freshman at Jackson State, though injuries limited his production. He finished the season with 18 catches for 188 yards and four receiving touchdowns. Hunter added 20 tackles and two interceptions on defense. After one season, Hunter left Jackson State and followed Sanders to Colorado. Hunter showed improvement as a receiver, gaining 721 yards on 57 catches. He added five touchdowns. His defensive numbers improved as well, as Hunter registered 30 tackles and three interceptions. He once again missed some time due to injuries and only played in nine games. Hunter stayed healthy during his final year at Colorado and truly solidified his status as one of the best players in college football. Hunter led the Big 12 with 96 receptions and 15 touchdowns on offense. He gained 1,258 receiving yards, leading all Buffaloes receivers. As a cornerback, Hunter registered 36 tackles, four interceptions and a forced fumble. His performance earned Hunter a myriad of awards. He became the second-ever defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy. He also won the Chuck Bednarik Award, given to the best defensive player in college football, and the Fred Biletnikoff Award, given to the best receiver in college football. Hunter is the only player to win both awards. In April, Colorado retired Hunter's No. 12 alongside Shedeur Sanders' No. 2 at a ceremony during its Black & Gold Day spring game. It's fitting that Hunter played for Sanders, as the two make for an easy comparison. Sanders is the most recent example of a true two-way player in the NFL. He starred as a shutdown cornerback over his 14-year NFL career, but also saw time as a kick returner and receiver. Sanders also played nine seasons in MLB during the NFL offseason. Sanders wasn't used consistently on offense during his NFL career, catching just a handful of passes each season. That wasn't the case in 1996, when the Dallas Cowboys committed to using Sanders both ways. In addition to playing defense, Sanders hauled in 67 passes for 475 yards and a touchdown. While Sanders only saw true two-way action in one season, his performance provides hope that Hunter could hold up under a heavy workload. That 1996 season by Sanders could be the blueprint for Hunter, who wants to play both ways in the NFL. Hunter made it clear he's hoping his next team gives him the opportunity to keep playing on both sides of the ball. While he admitted it's hard work to master any position, Hunter said he's been playing both ways long enough that it's no longer that complicated for him. There's plenty of skepticism over Hunter's ability to make it work. Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh questioned whether any player could play offense and defense consistently, saying, "I don't know if there's enough hours in the day for a player to be able to do that." Indeed, the recent list of two-way players in the NFL includes guys who only saw a few snaps on one side of the ball. It sure sounds like Hunter is looking for more, this time in Duval County. Yahoo Sports' Nate Tice ranked Hunter as the No. 1 overall player in the 2025 NFL Draft. Hunter is a game-changer whom Tice believes is a better defensive prospect. As a cornerback, Hunter can shut down receivers and shows great intelligence and ball skills. He could follow the same path as Sanders and be an elite defensive player who sees spot duty on offense. Playing both offense and defense full-time in the NFL could prove difficult, though it seems foolish to rule out the possibility for Hunter, who has already proven his doubters wrong.

Water shortages in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni: Essential information for residents
Taps across large parts of the City of Johannesburg and the Ekurhuleni Metro are set to run dry for a number of days or an undetermined period due to planned and unplanned maintenance due to emergency repairs. Image: Independent Newspapers Archives SEVERAL parts of Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni are set to be without water for several days up to an undetermined period due to planned and unplanned maintenance and emergency repairs by Rand Water. Johannesburg Water announced that one of Rand Water's bulk pipelines was undergoing emergency repairs affecting Soweto, Randburg, Roodepoort, Deep South (Orange Farm, Eldorado Park, Ennerdale, Lenasia and Zakariyya Park, among others) as well as the Commando System, which supplies reservoirs such as Brixton, Crosby, Hursthill No. 1, and Hursthill No. 2. 'Due to the complexity of this system, additional isolation is required to facilitate the repair work. Therefore, pumping from Rand Water's Eikenhof pump station will be stopped to achieve the necessary isolation,' the City of Joburg's water utility stated. There is no estimated time for the restoration of the water supply, according to Johannesburg Water. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ Residents in the affected areas have been warned they will experience poor water pressure to no supply at all, and Johannesburg Water has promised alternative supply arrangements. Johannesburg Water said it is engaging ward councillors to identify water delivery points and tanks to support residents efficiently. Rand Water chief executive Sipho Mosai said a burst of a big, high-pressure pipe at CMR Mine in Soweto has affected several areas on Gauteng's West Rand. According to Mosai, Rand Water has closed valves feeding the high-pressure pipe since Sunday, but the entity had not been successful by yesterday (Monday). 'We are trying to reduce pressure from our Eikenhof pump station so that it drops the pressure on this line. We can't fix it as it is now because it is highly pressurised. 'As soon as the pumping reduces, which unfortunately may affect other areas, we will be able to attend to it,' he explained. Mosai assured residents that Rand Water's team and contractors were on site working long and hard to fix the burst pipe. 'Please bear with us, we will be able to attend to it in the shortest possible time, and you will be able to get your water shortly,' he promised. In the Ekurhuleni Metro, residents have been notified that planned maintenance by Rand Water at their various water supply facilities will affect several areas from next Thursday, May 29, until June 3. The Mapleton System, which supplies areas such as Benoni, Vosloorus, Katlehong, Daveyton, Springs, Brakpan, KwaThema, Tsakani, Duduza, Nigel, and Dunnottar, will experience water shortages for up to 107 hours until June 2. Rand Water has indicated that with the unplanned maintenance, it hopes to achieve improved plant availability, reliability, and efficiencies. The municipality has also undertaken to provide water tankers in areas experiencing no water supply, but urged residents to store water for domestic use and to use it sparingly. In addition, businesses and institutions were advised to maintain on-site storage equivalent to their daily demand or at least up to 36 hours. Since November last year, several areas supplied by Joburg Water have been under water throttling, which sees frequent daily or night-time interruptions after level one restrictions were introduced in September. The restrictions prohibit the use of hosepipes to water gardens, wash cars, driveways, and fill up swimming pools.
