Joo Hyun Young , most popularly known for her roles in 'No Gain No Love', 'The Kidnapping Day', and 'Dr. Romantic', recently met with a minor car accident while she was on her way to a shoot. The actress, after sustaining some injuries, has decided to step away from her schedule for a short amount of time to recover. Joo Hyun Young was involved in a minor car accident while going to work On June 4, while the actress was on her way to a shooting location situated in Hadong County, South Gyeongsang Province , she ended up getting involved in a car accident. The actress was being driven to the location by her managers during the morning when the accident occurred, as per Soompi. Hyun Young sustained minor injuries due to the accident but is not in danger and was treated promptly. Agency issues official statement The actress's agency quickly took over the situation and promptly put out an official statement. They confirmed in the same reports that the actress will take a short hiatus from her schedule in order to rest and recover as quickly as possible. The statement read: 'There was a minor accident while travelling for filming. Based on medical advice that she needs rest and treatment, she will focus on recovery for the time being. The filming schedule is currently being adjusted.' Other than acting, Hyun Young is also involved in hosting her own radio show. In the meantime, as she recovers from her accident, the show will proceed to go on. Since the actress will be unable to host the show, special DJs will be invited to take over in the meantime. Joo Hyun Young's current projects that stand affected Joo Hyun Young was carrying a jam-packed busy schedule as she was currently in the process of filming for her next films, 'Ghost Train' and 'Pretty Crazy'. Not only that, but the popular actress has also been cast in the new drama series titled 'Nice Woman Boo Se Mi' or ' Ms Incognito '. She will be starring alongside renowned actors Jeon Yeo Been and Jung Jinyoung .

20 Feb - BLACKPINK's Jisoo is set to cooperate with Seo In-guk in the new Netflix rom com series, "Boyfriend on Demand" (working title). The drama will have the singer playing the role of Seo Mi-rae, a career-driven webtoon producer who finds her love life taking an unexpected turn when she receives a "Monthly Boyfriend" device that allows her to date seemingly perfect virtual suitors. On the other hand, Seo plays Seo Mi-rae's rival Park Kyeong-nam, who is more than just his frosty exterior. The drama will be helmed by Kim Jung-sik of "No Gain No Love" fame. This will be Jisoo's latest acting work following JTBC's "Snowdrop" and her new Prime Video series "Newtopia". On her music front, Jisoo previously inked a global deal with Warner Records for her solo music career, with her first solo mini album "Amortage" releasing on 14 February. Blackpink's Jisoo and Seo In-guk to star in Netflix K-drama ‘Boyfriend on Demand'

Netflix has officially announced its latest Korean romantic comedy series, Boyfriend on Demand (working title), starring Blackpink member Jisoo and acclaimed actor Seo In-guk. The high-concept drama follows an overworked webtoon producer who finds unexpected romance through a subscription-based virtual reality dating program. Jisoo will play Seo Mi-rae, a dedicated webtoon producer whose love life takes an unexpected turn when she receives a 'Monthly Boyfriend' device, allowing her to experience dating seemingly perfect virtual suitors. Opposite her, Seo In-guk will portray Park Kyeong-nam, a rival webtoon producer with a cold exterior but hidden emotional depth. Their workplace tension is set to bring an intriguing dynamic to the storyline. The series will be directed by Kim Jung-sik, known for his work on Work Later, Drink Now and No Gain No Love, ensuring a balance between the show's futuristic concept and heartfelt storytelling. Netflix continues to expand its investment in Korean content, with Boyfriend on Demand adding to its growing slate of romance dramas. The announcement follows Jisoo's recent acting success in Disney+ and JTBC's Snowdrop and her new Prime Video series Newtopia, a zombie survival drama. Additionally, Jisoo signed a global label deal with Warner Records and released her debut solo mini-album, Amortage, on Feb. 14.

Published: 7:15pm, 8 Feb 2025 In this week's K-drama news round-up, a hit action show returns, a trio of stars eye a major fantasy romance and other big names consider roles as lawyers and bodyguards. 1. The Remarried Empress Shin Min-a in a still from No Gain No Love. This drama will follow the tale of Navier, the empress of the Eastern Empire, who divorces Emperor Sovieshu when he cheats on her, then marries Heinrey, Emperor of the Western Empire. Shin is considering playing Navier, while Ju and Lee have been offered the parts of Sovieshu and Heinrey respectively. Ju has had a very busy few months, having also recently appeared in the dramas Light Shop and Love Your Enemy , while Shin was last seen in No Gain No Love . Lee has not been on screens since 2022 but will soon return in Seocho District . The series, which is expected to begin filming in May, will be directed by Jo Soo-won, who most recently made My Happy Ending . 2. Esquire
