Blenheim Palace announces new festival to replace summer concert series

Blenheim Palace has announced the hugely popular Nocturne Live concerts will be replaced by a new festival at the country estate. The palace in Woodstock ended its contract with Nocturne Live, a concert series which attracted the likes of Elton John and Gary Barlow to its stage, after its 10th anniversary concert last weekend. Attendees were disappointed at the news that Nocturne Live would no longer be held in the iconic palace setting, but may be relieved by the latest move. Image: PA Following another successful weekend of concerts, Nocturne Live announced on Monday, June 23 that the concert would not be returning to Blenheim next year. However, organisers said at the time they intend to remain in Oxfordshire, saying "there is still so much music we can't wait to bring to Oxfordshire...". The organisers also shared their thanks to the Woodstock palace for hosting "10 years of glorious shows". This year's Nocturne Live included The Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft, The Corrs, Nile Rogers & Chic as well as Gary Barlow. Over the years the series has also presented shows from a host of huge international stars including the likes of Lionel Ritchie, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Nile Rodgers, Lauryn Hill, Noel Gallagher, Gregory Porter, Van Morrison, Tears for Fears, Gladys Knight, Elvis Costello, Simple Minds and Ennio Morricone among many others. Blenheim Palace hosts a range of events including the Blenheim Palace Flower Show which returns from Friday to Sunday this week.

Nocturne Live ends Blenheim Palace shows after 10 years

An outdoor music festival held at Blenheim Palace for the past 10 years will not go ahead next year, organisers have Live Oxfordshire has been staged in the courtyard of the Oxfordshire stately home, with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie and Elton John as headline artists.A statement on the festival's website said it would "not be returning to the palace in 2026".Organisers added that they had "exciting plans for the future". Blenheim Palace has been contacted for comment. The event marked its 10th anniversary at the weekend with four evenings of performances from Nile Rogers and Chic, The Corrs, Richard Ashcroft and Gary a statement, Nocturne Live Oxfordshire said "Over the past ten years we have had the pleasure of welcoming legendary artists and over a quarter of a million of you to our home nestled in the Great Court of Blenheim Palace. "But now we are looking to write the next chapter of Nocturne Live."We would like to take this opportunity to send a huge thank you to Blenheim Palace for being our home for 10 years of glorious shows. "It has been a privilege to call this historic space our home and bring music to Woodstock."The palace, near Woodstock, is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
