Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan calls his troubled son Chance 'a terrible person'
Australian Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan has branded his troubled son Chance 'a terrible person'.
Talking to Today's Richard Wilkins, the 85-year-old star also spoke about a new cut of the iconic film.
Hogan's home's in LA and he admitted that he would love to make a permanent move back Down Under, but he is staying stateside to support his 27-year-old son.
Hogan shares youngest son Chance with his second wife and Crocodile Dundee co-star Linda Kozlowski, who he divorced in 2014.
He's also got five children with his first wife Noelene Edwards.
When asked what it was like to be back in Australia to promote The 4K Encore Cut of the movie, the star said: 'It's where I belong.'
Today's Wilkins then pressed him on if and when he would like to relocate to Australia, to which he replied: 'Oh, tomorrow.'
However for the time being he needs to remain in the U.S.
He said: 'I have business reasons and my son to stay in the States for now.'
When asked for an update on Chance's condition, Hogan said: 'Alright. Better than he gets.
'He gets a lot of tabloid stuff, but he's a terrible person because he knows they're watching him and he puts something on for them.'
Chance most recently sparked concern for his welfare in January when he shared videos on his Instagram Stories where he was drinking wine and slurring his words as he sat at a table out in public.
He slurred his words as he sipped from a wine glass and said: 'This is my life. This is what it's been reduced to.'
Chance then angled the camera towards his face and his laptop wobbled as he struggled to hold it steady while he spoke.
He then leaned in close and said: 'Please. Please kill me. I'm begging you.'
Aspiring musician Chance, who's been based in Venice Beach with his father, had frequently made headlines for his erratic behavior.
In December, as he ran errands in LA, Hogan said there was nothing to fear.
And when he was asked if he was worried about Chance, Hogan casually shook his head and smiled before replying: 'Nah!'
Hogan added: 'No. It's a lot of made-up stuff and a lot of it [Chance] does on purpose.'
Chance lived with his father since his parents' divorce, after 24 years of marriage.
In November, troubling photos emerged of Chance as he purchased beer and shuffled around Venice Beach's back alleys, near his dad's home.
