(Facebook pic) KUALA LUMPUR : A kindergarten teacher has been remanded for six days until June 5 for allegedly abusing a six-year-old girl using a pen at a kindergarten in Kota Emerald, Rawang. Gombak district police chief Noor Ariffin Nasir said the 30-year-old woman was arrested at 2pm yesterday, adding that police also seized a container of pens and a closed-circuit television (CCTV) recorder from the kindergarten to assist in investigations. He said the incident came to light after the victim's father noticed an injury on his daughter's head last Monday night, while they were at home. 'The victim informed her father that the injury was caused by a teacher who had struck her with a pen while she was at the kindergarten,' Noor Ariffin said in a statement today. He said the girl was referred to Selayang Hospital, where she was confirmed to have sustained a soft tissue injury to the head. Following the incident, the victim's 34-year-old father lodged a police report on Thursday night. The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the investigating officer, Hakimie Razally, at 011-3335 2585 or the Gombak district police headquarters (IPD) at 03-6126 2222.

Influencer allegedly caught sexting 14-year-old remanded 4 days

Gombak police chief Noor Ariffin Nasir advised parents to monitor their children's activities online and report any suspicious behaviour to the authorities immediately. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : A 22-year-old social media influencer allegedly caught sexting a 14-year-old girl has been remanded for four days by the police. Gombak police chief Noor Ariffin Nasir said the suspect was assisting investigations under Section 15(e) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for causing a child to watch or hear a visual, audio or written representation of someone engaged in an activity sexual in nature. He said the suspect was arrested yesterday after a police report lodged by the victim's mother alleged that her teenage daughter had received messages and pictures that had sexual elements via a social media platform. 'Preliminary investigations found that the suspect had sent several lewd images and messages with sexual elements to the victim since early May. 'The police view the sexual exploitation of children seriously and will take stern action against any individual involved in such offences,' he said in a statement. Noor Ariffin also advised parents to monitor their children's activities online and report any suspicious behaviour to the authorities immediately. Harian Metro reported earlier that the suspect had surrendered himself at the Gombak police headquarters yesterday. He allegedly sent a lewd picture to the teenager, purportedly to show a scar he had received from an operation. He is said to have apologised to the teen's mother over the issue.
