Scottie Scheffler's Son Had Unfortunate Bathroom Accident at Memorial Tournament

Being a dad to a newborn or young toddler means preparing for the unexpected. It also means knowing that an unexpected poo-splosion is almost certain to come at the most inopportune of times—and you just have to roll with it. World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler did just that after winning the Memorial Tournament on Sunday, June 1, 2025. While being interviewed after the victory, he was holding his son, Bennett, who was spotted with a poop stain right in the middle of his lower back. Advertisement As Kyle Porter of Normal Sport said, this is essentially "peak dad life." And in perfect fashion, Scheffler just rolled with it. During a video caught by CBS, Scheffler was seen celebrating with his wife Meredith and when she handed their son, Bennett, to Scheffler, could be heard saying "he has poop all over his back." Scheffler responded, stating, "That'll happen." Scheffler's victory at the Memorial Tournament marked his second consecutive title at the brutally tough PGA Tour event. With the victory, he joined Tiger Woods as the only two players in history to win consecutive Memorial Tournament titles. Advertisement Scheffler carded a 10-under 278 for the tournament, wrapping up the victory by posting a two-under 70 in his final round and ultimately winning by four strokes. His red-hot play has been on full display, as he's won three times in his last four starts, including a victory at the PGA Championship. All three of the victories have come by at least four shots. PGA of America Breaks Silence on Rory McIlroy Driver Debacle at PGA Championship

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Rory McIlroy hasn't had his best stuff so far at the PGA Championship, but he still has an outside chance to make a run after making the cut on the number. The Masters champion struggled to hit fairways during his first two rounds before the news broke that he is using a backup driver this week at Quail Hollow. Before the tournament, the USGA deemed McIlroy's driver "non-conforming" and made it ineligible. On Saturday morning, the PGA of America released a statement on the controversy, via Kyle Porter of Normal Sport. "We can confirm that the USGA was invited to do club testing at the PGA Championship, at the PGA of America's request," part of the statement read. "That testing program is consistent with the same level of support that the USGA provides to the PGA Tour and other championships, as part of their regular programs for driver testing. The standard process is for about a third of the field to be randomly tested under the program. That was the case at Quail Hollow this week. Finding driver heads that have crept over the line of conformance is not an unusual occurrence, especially for clubs that are hit thousands of times over a long period of time... "Neither the USGA nor the PGA of America have any concerns about player intent." More Photo byThe change has clearly thrown McIlroy off somewhat as he tries to find his rhythm before it's too late at the second major of the year, but he is still finding his feel for the new big stick. Still, the Northern Irishman has a chance to make a late charge after leader Jhonattan Vegas stumbled with a pair of bogeys to start his third round on Saturday. If he can get into a groove, nobody would be surprised to see him shoot up the leaderboard at a course where he has four victories during his career. Jordan Spieth, Brooks Koepka Receive Unfortunate Ryder Cup Update on Monday

The Masters recently concluded, but there is no end to drama in the golf world. Recently, the Ryder Cup rankings for Team USA were revealed, and unfortunately Jordan Spieth and Brooks Koepka were on the dark side of them. Spieth managed to bounce back at Augusta National after missing the cut last year. The three-time major winner was tied for 14th at the 2025 Masters. Meanwhile, his ex-PGA Tour colleague Koepka failed to make the cut. After an underwhelming weekend, more bad news awaited both golfers. Advertisement Kyle Porter of Normal Sport shared the list of U.S. Ryder Cup rankings five months ahead of the event. Scottie Scheffler led the list as Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau followed. However, both Spieth and Koepka remained unranked. The fans were quick to point this out. Before missing the cut at the Masters, Koepka's best finish dated back to LIV Golf Singapore, where the 34-year-old finished as the runner-up. Spieth, 31, on the other hand, has five top-25 finishes on the PGA Tour. But despite the golfers' current standing in their respective tours, they are well-respected Ryder Cup stars. Spieth and Koepka have been Team USA teammates four times at the Ryder Cup, while winning the 2016 and 2021 editions together. They were even part of the American team during the previous edition in 2023, which Luke Donald-led Europe won convincingly. As the stakes get bigger for Team USA to reclaim the title, Spieth's and Koepka's expertise would be an added element.
