NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The Norman Police Department (NPD) announced on Wednesday, its hosting a Community Safety Day April 26 regarding proper disposal of select items. According to NPD, residents will have the opportunity to dispose of unwanted documents,prescription drugs, and ammunition. Norman City Council postpones vote on Rock Creek Entertainment District phasing plan DETAILS: Date: Saturday, April 26 Time: 9:00 a.m. to Noon Location: in the parking lot on the southeast corner of Andrews Park near Daws Street and James Garner Avenue Here are the specific items listed for Norman residents for free disposal opportunities: Document Shredding: Residents can bring up to five boxes of documents to be shredded by Absolute Data Shredding. Prescription Drug Disposal: Residents can bring any outdated, unused or unneeded prescription drugs to be disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. *Please do not bring syringes, liquid medications, Epipens, or inhalers. Ammunition Disposal: NPD will provide an opportunity for residents to drop off old and unwanted ammunition to be destroyed. *No explosives are allowed. NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert on behalf of the Norman Police Department for 77-year-old Stephen Woodrum. According to OHP, Woodrum is 5'8″ and 140 pounds. He usually wears a veteran hat and a leather jacket or a black/brown coat with fringe along the side. Norman PD identify child found alone, parent located

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) — The Norman Police Department posted to social media that a 1-year-old child, who was found walking alone Saturday morning, has been identified and the parent has been located. According to police, the 1-year-old boy was found walking the 2000 block of West Lindsey Street after 5 a.m. Saturday. The child was found safe, but police needed help locating the parents or guardians. Police tell News 4 that a bystander had spotted the child walking alone and reported the situation to authorities. The 1-year-old boy was found with limited clothing on, according to the Norman Police Department. Just before 8:40 a.m. Norman PD said the young boy had been identified and the parent was located. Police tell News 4 this is an ongoing investigation and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services is also involved. Endangered Missing Advisory issued for missing 2-year-old boy Norman PD says the child is not connected nor is the subject of the Endangered Missing Advisory issued by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol on behalf of the Midwest City Police Department.
