Wilmot Township man seriously hurt following motorcycle collision: police

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Dodge vehicle at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Fife Road at 3:25 p.m. Police said the motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with serious physical injuries. The driver of the Dodge, an 84-year-old man from Brantford, wasn't injured. The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated. The roads have since re-opened. The investigation is ongoing and charges are anticipated.

Waterloo Regional Police Service recovers 45 riding lawn tractors, Unionville man arrested

The Waterloo Regional Police Service has made an arrest after a tractor trailer hauling dozens of riding lawn tractors was stolen. Police said the theft was first reported on May 9. They were told the tractor trailer had been taken from the Township of North Dumfries with over $100,000 worth of goods inside. On Wednesday, officers completed two search warrants, one in Markham and another in Scarborough. During the search, investigators said they found 45 riding lawn tractors that had been inside the trailer when it was stolen. A 37-year-old man from Unionville was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000.
