Finalists in Toales 2025 Battle of the Bands announced
Held in honour of the late Eileen Kirk, the event promises an unforgettable night of live music, community spirit, and high-stakes competition as well as raising much-needed funds for the North Louth Hospice. After weeks of intense preliminary rounds, four standout acts have earned their place in the final: local heroes, Killjoy and Apropos, a soul/rock group hailing from Dundalk, Empty Spaces, a powerful quartet from Belfast; and Deepest Well, a five-piece Alternative Rock band from Armagh. The bands are battling it out for a €500 cash prize and the coveted 2025 Battle of the Bands trophy—but it's not just about the music. All proceeds from the night will go to the North Louth Hospice, ensuring that every ticket sold supports a vital local cause. The Organisers are encouraging music lovers to come along early, support emerging talent, and enjoy a night of electrifying performances.#Doors open at 8pm, with admission priced at just €5.

Perfect day for 14th Cross Cooley Challenge
After a couple of weeks of nonstop sunshine (yes I never expected to write that), we headed for the Greenore Bar on Saturday morning for the registration of the 14th Cross Cooley Challenge, the fundraising walk for the North Louth Hospice and Maria Goretti Foundation organised by Errol Boyle and a number of dedicated volunteers.
