3 hospitalized after crash in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON () — Responders were on the scene of a crash that left three people injured in Northwest D.C. early Saturday. In a post on X just after 1:30 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said the crash happened at 12th and Constitution Avenue and that responders had to rescue a woman passenger from one of the cars. Medics took her to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police investigating after 3 found shot in Southeast DC Responders also took two men to the hospital, one of whom had non-life-threatening injuries, and the other who was in serious condition. Although fire officials did not specify how many vehicles were involved in the crash, photos posted by the DCFD show two cars with significant damage, one of which crashed into a pole. Two people believed to be connected to the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, were shot Wednesday night, according to a source familiar. A law enforcement source tells CNN that two people were killed and at least one of them is believed to be connected to the embassy. DC Police say they are investigating a shooting across the street from the FBI's Washington Field Office. The Capital Jewish Museum is also located nearby. The Israeli embassy is working with law enforcement. Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon reacted to media reports of the shooting on Wednesday, saying in a statement on X, 'The fatal shooting that took place outside the event that took place at the Jewish Museum in Washington, DC – in which Israeli embassy employees were also injured – is a depraved act of anti-Semitic terrorism.' The Israeli ambassador was not involved in the incident and was not at the location when the shooting happened, an embassy spokesperson told CNN. Man charged in 2024 beating death of 1-year-old girl

WASHINGTON - A man has been charged in the 2024 beating death of a one-year-old girl in Northwest D.C. Police say Wayne Blake, 24, was arrested on May 8. The backstory One-year-old Journee Moore was found dead just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 28, 2024. Officers were called to a home in the 3700 block of Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, for the report of a child in cardiac arrest. She was taken to the hospital by D.C. Fire and EMS and was later pronounced dead. The day after her death, D.C.'s Chief Medical Examiner determined that she had suffered multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death was ruled homicide. What we know Blake was charged with first-degree murder – felony murder and cruelty to children. The detectives' investigation determined that the offense is domestic in nature.
