BBC Beyond Paradise star rushed to hospital as co-star breaks silence
Beyond Paradise star Sally Bretton is returning to her role to play Lee Mack's wife in the long-running BBC comedy, Not Going Out

Sally Bretton, star of Beyond Paradise, experienced a medical emergency while on set for the BBC comedy Not Going Out with co-star Lee Mack.
The 45-year-old actress suffered discomfort during the live filming of the show, which features her as Lucy opposite Lee's semi-fictionalised self.
The incident occurred amidst an episode brimming with jokes about the struggle to get tickets for an Oasis reunion tour.
Lee recounted to The Mirror the moment Sally questioned him about the symptoms of appendicitis during the shoot: "There was a moment in that Oasis episode when we were filming it, when Sally said to me - she looked a bit in pain, 'Do you know what appendicitis feels like?'"

Lee, who had initially dismissed the severity of her condition, later found out that Sally required an emergency appendectomy the following day.

He said, "I said, 'I have no idea but I can tell you now you haven't got appendicitis, otherwise you wouldn't be here filming'. The next day, she had her appendix out."
Reflecting on their long-running partnership since the show's inception in 2006, both actors shared that they feel "emotional" about their journey from playing flatmates to a married couple with children.

The latest series pays tribute to the late Bobby Ball, Lee's father on the show, who died in 2020.
Lee fondly remembered Ball's presence on set and admitted, "We miss him a lot.
"He was like me, he wasn't from an acting background - so whatever I'm like in a studio, he was 50 times worse.
"The director would have to tell him not to keep looking at the audience every time he cracked a joke," reports the Express.
Reflecting on his time in the show, he shared: "When we look back, Sally and I do get a bit emotional.
"We've been in the show a long time, and there are different eras of it, especially when you look at all the people from the past who have been in the show and come and gone."
