Man runs in front of a moving truck
VEREENIGING.- A bloodied Mjayeli Security Services uniform might be the only thing left that could prove the identity of a man that allegedly threw himself in front of a moving truck on the Boy Louw Road, near Steelpark, Vereeniging on Tuesday evening. It is said that on Tuesday evening a truck driver was driving at Boy Louw, Vereeniging direction, when he suddenly saw an unknown person waving in the road and further ran in front of the moving truck. He then tried to avoid him, but (unfortunately) it was already late. 'The African male did not have any identification document/card on him, but he had Mjayeli Security Services uniform in his possession. He was declared dead on the scene by Emergency Medical Services and taken to Forensic Pathology Services for further investigation, said Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane. She further advised, 'To enhance safety while walking at night, pedestrians should prioritize visibility and be aware of their surroundings. Wearing bright or reflective clothing, carrying a flashlight, and walking on the right-hand side of the road (where possible) are key strategies. Additionally, pedestrians should avoid crossing in the middle of the street and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.' Road maintenance staff find decomposed body along Golden Highway
SEBOKENG.- Perhaps had the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) long embarked on cleaning and maintaining service delivery in Sedibeng, a gruesome discovery would long have been made. Sebokeng police are investigating a case of inquest after a decomposed body was spotted by road maintenance staff next to Sebokeng Water Works, along the Golden Highway, on Tuesday afternoon. Police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that the road maintenance staff alleged that they were busy cleaning, and cutting the tall grass, along the Golden Highway when they spotted a decomposed body. 'They summoned for the police and on arrival, the police found a decomposed body of an unknown person. Upon further investigation it was discovered that both legs were detached from the body, and were a few paces away. EMS verified the gender of the deceased as a male and his age was not estimated. The body was taken to the Sebokeng Forensic Pathology for further investigation,' Mokhachane said. The Sebokeng Station Commander, Brigadier Thembekile Kubone, would like to plead with anyone who does not know about their loved one's whereabouts to go to Sebokeng Forensic Pathology Services for further information. The police further plead with the public to assist with any information that may assist with any information that may assist with the investigation. Man's body found at Houtkop railway line
SEBOKENG.- The South African railway system in Gauteng has collapsed, leading to the rapid rise in crime such as cable theft and murder, with bodies being discovered along the railway lines and the neglected and vandalised buildings at train stations, almost every other week. One such example is an inquest case that is being investigated by the Sebokeng police after a man's body was found at Houtkop railway line near Boiketlong, in Zone 10 Industrial in Sebokeng on Monday. It is said that on Monday, the police received a complaint that a body of man was spotted on the railway line. 'On arrival, the police found a lifeless body of an African male lying on the railway line and upon further examination by the Emergency Medical Services personnel, the African male had sustained swollen lips and he was declared dead at the scene,' said police spokesperson, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane. The deceased was wearing a black top, blue jeans, and black sneakers. The police to appeal to the public to come forward with any information that may assist with the investigation. Man's body found next to Azania stream
SEBOKENG.- The Sebokeng police have opened an inquest after a man's body was found floating in a stream next to Azania, in Sebokeng, on Monday. The police were summoned to Azania where it was alleged that a human body was seen floating in the stream, Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane, Sebokeng police spokesperson, said. 'On arrival at the scene, the members found a decomposed body of a man in his late forties floating in the stream. He was declared dead by the EMS and taken to Forensic Pathology Services for further investigation.' The police plead with the public to assist in locating the family of the deceased, and if anyone has recently reported their loved one as missing, they are requested to go to Sebokeng SAPS for further assistance. Concealment of birth investigated in Sonderwater
SEBOKENG. – A case of concealment of birth is being investigated after a foetus was found in Sonderwater recently. Sebokeng police spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane said that police were called by community members about the discovery at a bridge. 'Upon arrival, police found a foetus lying in the water next to a burst sewage pipe, still attached to the umbilical cord and the placenta,' Mokhachane explained. The foetus was declared dead by emergency medical services, and the body was taken to Forensic Pathology Services for further investigation. The police urge community members to assist them with any information about a person who was pregnant in the surrounding areas but is no longer pregnant, and if they know of someone who was pregnant and has recently visited the area.
