Unauthorised Mujamalah Visa Offerings Are Haram, Against Islamic Teachings

From Nurliyana Farhah Ruslan MAKKAH, May 31 (BERNAMA) -- The irresponsible act of certain individuals or agents offering Mujamalah visas without valid authentication is haram (unlawful) from the Shariah perspective and contrary to Islamic teachings, said the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar. He stated that deceiving others for personal gain is a clear form of fraud and should not be taken lightly by society, especially by Muslims. bootstrap slideshow "Any party that attempts to defraud others has committed an act clearly prohibited by religion," he said at a press conference at the Tabung Haji (TH) Headquarters here today. Yesterday, the acting director of the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID), Datuk Seri Muhammed Hasbullah Ali, reminded the public to be more cautious when purchasing Hajj pilgrimage packages following Saudi Arabia's move to tighten the issuance of Mujamalah visas to Malaysian citizens. Mohd Na'im said that the offering of Mujamalah visas by unauthorised parties not only violates national laws but also leads to the illegal appropriation of others' rights. "This is a form of exploitation that takes advantage of some people's desire to perform Hajj or Umrah, ultimately leading them to be defrauded, and this act is oppression and carries a great sin in the eyes of religion," he said. Therefore, Mohd Na'im advised the public to be more careful and not to be easily swayed by sweet promises from individuals or agents who do not have official authorisation from the authorities. In the same vein, Mohd Na'im said the government welcomed Saudi Arabia's move to tighten controls at all borders and entry points to Masjidil Haram in an effort to curb the entry of individuals without valid Hajj visas.

Pilgrims Happy With TH Cafeteria Services, Malaysian Menu, Affordable Prices

From Nurliyana Farhah Ruslan MAKKAH, May 29 (Bernama) -- Friendly service, reasonable prices and familiar Malaysian flavours are among the main reasons pilgrims have expressed satisfaction with the cafeteria services provided by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) at the seven Pilgrims' Accommodation Buildings (BPJH) here. Pilgrim Muhamad Fakhri Kamarul Zaman, 34, shared his appreciation for the pricing, noting that it is much cheaper compared to eateries or supermarkets. 'The dishes served are just like what we have back in Malaysia. My favourite is the nasi lemak,' he told reporters recently. He also welcomed the cafeteria's flexible payment system, which allows pilgrims to pay for their meals at any time, helping to reduce congestion during peak hours. Meanwhile, Normah Mat Noor, 59, said she is happy with TH's thoughtful effort in offering familiar Malaysian dishes. 'I feel it's truly worth being able to stay here to perform the Haj. It feels like being back in Malaysia. This is an excellent initiative that caters to our tastes,' she said. Meanwhile, TH Makkah Cafeteria operations manager, Muhammad Najib Zulkifi, said TH remains committed to ensuring pilgrims are served clean, high-quality meals at affordable prices. 'The pricing at all cafeterias follows our established guidelines to ensure it does not burden them. For example, heavier meals like nasi lemak are sold for around six to 10 riyals, depending on the choice of side dishes.

Pilgrims Advised To Send Purchases Home Via Post For Smoother Worship, Hassle-free Return Journey

By Nurliyana Farhah Ruslan MAKKAH, May 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysian pilgrims are advised to plan their purchases and arrange to post items home early while in the Holy Land to ensure a smoother worship experience, especially in preparation for Wukuf Day, and to provide greater comfort during their return journey home. Pilgrims Fund Board (TH) External Services Manager Mohamad Zamry Mohd Noor said in previous Haj seasons, many pilgrims tend to buy souvenirs and gifts at the last minute, when that period should instead be fully devoted to acts of worship, especially during the Masyair phase. "Pilgrims are encouraged to immediately send purchased items to the mailing counter provided in the accommodation lobby without bringing them up to their rooms. This measure helps avoid room congestion, ensuring greater comfort and preventing fatigue when returning home. "Imagine if pilgrims have to carry more than 10 like lifting a sack of rice. The journey from the accommodation to the airport, including climbing stairs and handling luggage for check-in and into the aircraft cabin, can be extremely tiring. 'In the end, pilgrims arrive home completely exhausted,' he said when met by the media here recently. He said that as of May 18, more than 85,000 kg of pilgrims' belongings had been posted back to Malaysia since April 29, with an estimated cost of nearly 1.5 million Saudi Riyals. Mohamad Zamry said pilgrims can also send copies of the Quran through the postal service, with each copy properly wrapped and affixed with a special sticker. These items will be handled separately to ensure their safety and proper preservation, he said.

Saudi Arabia To Sight Zulhijjah Crescent Moon Today To Set Dates For Arafah Day, Aidiladha

GENERAL From Nurliyana Farhah Ruslan MAKKAH, May 27 (Bernama) -- The Saudi Arabian government will conduct the crescent moon sighting today (May 27) to determine the date of 1 Zulhijjah, which will then establish the date for the Day of Arafah and Hari Raya Aidiladha, said the head of the Malaysian haj delegation Mohd Hisham Harun. "The official decision is expected to be announced after Maghrib prayers (local time)," he told reporters after visiting the Masyair operations area here on Monday. Mohd Hisham said that to ensure the proper observance of religious rites, the Panel of Haj Guidance Reference Experts for the 1446H season has determined that the midpoint of the night on 10 Zulhijjah will begin at 11.36 pm. "This setting of time is crucial as it marks the beginning of the overnight stay (mabit) in Muzdalifah, the time for the stoning ritual at Jamrah Kubra, the start of the initial tahallul (hair trimming), and the commencement of the Haj Tawaf," he said. He said the minimum duration for mabit in Mina on the nights of 11th, 12th, and 13th Zulhijjah has been set at no less than 4 hours and 35 minutes after Maghrib, following religious guidelines. Meanwhile, Mohd Hisham said the tents in Arafah and Mina for the Masyair operations involving Malaysian pilgrims are over 95 per cent ready and are expected to be fully completed within the next three days. "Large tents can accommodate more than 200 people at a time, and each tent is clearly labelled with the maktab (accommodation) number and tent number. Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) will be allocated tent numbers in Arafah and Mina, and pilgrims can soon check these details via the TH Hujjaj app," he said. The Masyair operation is the peak of the haj pilgrimage, which involves the movement of Malaysian pilgrims to Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina over five days from 8 to 13 Zulhijjah, to fulfill the essential and obligatory rites of the pilgrimage.
