Man gets life term for rape of minor girl
Lucknow: The Special Court of Pocso cases, Aligarh, on Monday sentenced a man to rigorous life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 2 lakh in a case related to rape of a minor girl.
A case was lodged in the online child sexual abuse and exploitation (OCSAE) unit of CBI on Aug 12, 2024, against accused Naveen Kumar of Tehsil Gabana in Aligarh.
The accused faced allegations of storing and collecting material depicting explicit acts involving children in digital formats.
Joint efforts by CBI involving Interpol's ICSE database and Google's Cyber Tipline Reports enabled authorities to amass crucial incriminating evidence.
During probe CBI found evidence that a minor victim was subjected to sexual exploitation, including acts of penetrative assault and the recording of such acts, during 2021-22. The accused was arrested on Sep 6, 2024. The case came to light via CBI detection, with neither the victim nor her family initially approaching law enforcement.
