Terradepth wins five-year contract to provide hydrographic survey and data services
Terradepth, an Ocean Data as a Service (ODaaS) provider, has secured a five-year master services agreement with an offshore energy company to deliver autonomous hydrographic survey and data services. The company will deliver the services at a significantly reduced time and cost compared with traditional hydrographic surveys. The initial project under this agreement is for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal in the Asia-Pacific region. This endeavour will utilise Terradepth's vertically integrated ODaaS solution, encompassing both autonomous subsea data collection and the processing and delivery of this data through its Absolute Ocean platform. Launched in November 2024, Absolute Ocean is a secure, cloud-native environment designed for scalable subsea data visualisation and management tailored for offshore energy clients. The integration of the two platforms enables stakeholders to gain insights from the data and perform safe and sustainable operations. Terradepth chief operating officer Kris Rydberg said: 'This engagement validates Terradepth's value proposition of a complete solution at a much lower cost: autonomous data acquisition delivered through a secure, cloud-native data platform. 'With Ocean Data as a Service, we are solving subsea operations challenges – cost, speed, access and repeatability – across government and infrastructure-intensive commercial sectors like offshore energy, subsea fibre and electric cable with a scalable, integrated solution.' The Absolute Ocean platform is engineered to handle complex maritime data, offering web browser-based access to ocean maps and facilitating near real-time sharing, visualisation and collaboration on subsea data. The platform operates in the cloud and can process various types of data including bathymetric surveys, sonar scans and video footage. By centralising subsea data access, the platform provides teams with the necessary critical information.
