Employer Charter awards for 14 North Lanarkshire companies and charities
Provost Kenneth Duffy presented Employer Charter awards to the companies at an event marking the achievements of organisations which have received the accreditation.
Fourteen local companies and charities have been recognised by North Lanarkshire Council for their high standards of excellence.
Provost Kenneth Duffy presented Employer Charter awards to the companies at an event marking the achievements of organisations which have received the accreditation.
The charter is based around four commitments by employers: to pay all staff the Real Living Wage; employ North Lanarkshire residents; use local businesses in the supply chain where possible; and ensure fair work practices which attract and retain employees.
Businesses which achieve two or more of these commitments receive a bronze, silver or gold accreditation. Membership of the charter is free.
'Congratulations to all the businesses and charities on the awards which highlight their commitment to investing in their employees, being a positive employer and a responsible business,' said Provost Duffy.
'Our Employer Charter delivers benefits for both employers and employees as well as supporting our continuing work to develop a sustainable, diverse economy in North Lanarkshire.'
