POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – The Poland Swim and Dive team is set to compete in the OHSAA Swim and Dive State Meet in Division II at the end of this week in Canton.
The Bulldogs have five total state qualifiers, four in swimming and one in diving.
'I've always wanted to make State. This my first year, actually, swimming at State,' said Poland senior swimmer Gabe Bettross. 'So I'm very happy about that.'
Individually, junior Sean Zura will compete in the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle.
Bulldog sophomore Mckenna Daley will compete in the Girls Diving portion of the State Meet.
Poland will compete as a team in the Boys 200-Yard Freestyle Relay. Team members include Zura, Bettross, Ian Vandervort and Jake O'Bruba.
'I'm expecting to make finals. Hopefully get top eight and medal,' Bettross said.
Poland Diving will compete Wednesday morning and the swimming competitions happen on Thursday night at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.
