T20 double header brings victory and defeat for Wiltshire in NCCA competition
Match Report by Roy Honeybone: Herefordshire CCC vs Wiltshire CCC - NCCA T20 Competition
On a beautiful Bank Holiday Sunday, the scenic Eastnor Cricket Club buzzed with excitement as cricket fans gathered to enjoy a thrilling T20 double-header.
With over 600 runs scored and 22 sixes launched into the sky, the day certainly delivered on entertainment!
In the first match, Wiltshire won the toss and chose to field, hoping to restrict Herefordshire's scoring.
Herefordshire put up a solid total of 169 runs for 6 wickets, with OJ Walker shining brightly.
He scored a fantastic 62 runs off just 42 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes before being bowled by Wiltshire's captain, Ed Young, who ended with impressive figures of 2 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs.
Alfie Johnson also contributed with 2 wickets for 33 runs, while Rhys Baker and Archie Fairfax-Ross each took a wicket.
Wiltshire's fielding was sharp, with Will Naish taking 3 catches, showcasing his skills in the deep.
In response, Wiltshire chased down the target with confidence, led by the Wadworth Man of the Day, Jack Mynott, who remained unbeaten on 77 runs from 60 balls, including 9 fours and 1 six.

He formed a strong partnership with Will Naish, who scored 14 runs, putting on 71 runs for the first wicket.
After Naish's dismissal, Jake Goodwin came to the crease and continued the assault, scoring 53 runs off 30 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes.

They reached 172 runs for 2 wickets, winning with 5 balls to spare.
After enjoying some delightful Herefordshire hospitality (including a delicious Pavlova with local strawberries!), the second match began with Herefordshire batting first again.
They set a challenging target of 163 runs for 9 wickets.
William Brown was the star for Wiltshire, taking 3 wickets for 24 runs, including two early dismissals that scattered the stumps of Herefordshire's openers.
OJ Walker once again led the scoring with 37 runs off 20 balls, but only wicketkeeper Powell (32 runs) managed to add more than 30 runs.

They lost wickets steadily and found themselves in trouble at 52 for 7.
However, Jonathan Sadler fought back with a resilient 35 not out from 36 balls, hitting 1 four and 2 sixes, which helped lift the score to 113 all out.
JW Rudge turned the tables for Herefordshire with a stunning bowling performance, taking 5 wickets for just 10 runs in 4 overs, a remarkable turnaround from his earlier match.
In the end, the day concluded with both teams sharing the honors.
Wiltshire will need to find more consistency as they prepare for their next matches against Glamorgan and Devon in the NCCA competition.
