STARLUX Airbus A350-900 at the gate at Seattle International Airport. Under the radar, a luxury airline has been growing in Asia and now in the U.S. market as well. Based in Taipei, STARLUX is a luxury international airline that now serves more than 20 Asian destinations with its modern fleet of Airbus aircraft. In the U.S., STARLUX flies to Los Angeles, Seattle, San Francisco, and now Ontario, CA. The airline had its inaugural flights on January 23, 2020, flying its Taiwan hub to Macau, Da Nang and Penang. In addition to the Macau flight, he ferried the airline's first A321neos from Airbus in Hamburg back to Taipei! The new airline survived COVID-19 and kept growing. On June 2, STARLUX celebrated the inaugural flight of its new Ontario–Taipei route. As it landed in Ontario, CA (ONT), at 5:05PM, the big Airbus A350-900 was greeted by a water cannon salute from assembled firetrucks. And before Flight JX9 headed back to Taipei at 11:05PM, the airline held a celebratory gate launch, featuring a ribbon cutting, cake cutting, a symbolic gift exchange of a commemorative aircraft model, a live string duet, and refreshments Ontario International Airport, (ONT), is the fourth U.S. gateway for STARLUX following LAX, SFO, and SEA. The greater Los Angeles area also boasts one of the largest and most diverse Asian American communities in the country. Southern California is home to more than 2.5 million Asian Americans according to the 2020 U.S. Census, including significant Taiwanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean communities. With Ontario's proximity to these communities, STARLUX says it is 'poised to connect families, friends, and businesses across the Pacific.' 'This new route is an important milestone for STARLUX,' said Walter Liang, Chief Passenger Commercial Officer of STARLUX Airlines. 'Ontario's strategic location within the Greater Los Angeles area positions us to better connect the diverse communities of Southern California to and from Asia in luxury and comfort. The new service also offers travelers into and out of the Los Angeles area more flexibility and convenience when planning their travel with STARLUX, as they now have the choice of 14 flights a week across two airports.' The STARLUX fleet consists of three types of efficient, new-generation Airbus aircraft, the A321neo, A330neo, and A350-900. STARLUX is serving the Taipei-Ontario route with new Airbus A350-900 aircraft. STARLUX's Airbus 350-900s feature 306 seats, spread across four cabins: four First Class suites, 26 Business Class pods, 36 Premium Economy recliners and 240 Economy seats. The cabins feature earth-toned interiors and curated in-cabin aromatherapy for the long flight. The dining option on the planes include Taiwanese signature dishes, and all passengers can pre-order their food online so they can get the meal they want. The codeshare partnership with Alaska Airlines extends to eight U.S. cities, including Salt Lake City, Portland, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, and San Diego. Since April 2023, STARLUX and Alaska have cooperated in a loyalty program where Alaska's Mileage Plan members can earn and redeem miles on STARLUX flights. Kontron Marks Two Years of Seamless Broadband Partnership with NT Fiber
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Kontron, a global leader in broadband access solutions, proudly marks over two years of successful deployment with NT Fiber, a rapidly growing regional Internet Service Provider in Texas. As the first provider in the state to adopt Kontron's broadband platform, NT Fiber has delivered consistent, high-performance fiber connectivity to homes and businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex—and the results speak for themselves. Since the initial rollout, the network has operated without a single technical issue. This kind of long-term performance reliability is a key differentiator in the U.S. ISP market, where uptime, service quality, and support play critical roles in customer retention and expansion. NT Fiber continues to offer all subscribers symmetrical, multi-gigabit speeds—starting at 2.5 Gbps—powered by Kontron's future-proof 10GbE XGS-PON solutions. With 10 GbE XGS-PON, NT Fiber can deliver ultra-fast broadband up to 10 Gbit/s, providing ample bandwidth to meet customer needs well into the future. 'Our ability to offer premium high-speed internet service to NT Fiber customers is a direct result of our partnership with Kontron. Their GPON and XGS-PON solutions deliver the bandwidth our customers demand, with the flexibility and scalability to grow as needs evolve. Our experience with Kontron has been nothing short of exceptional. Since our initial meeting over two years ago, their team has continued to exceed our expectations in product support, and the performance of their OLT and ONT products has enabled us to build a true end-to-end FTTH solution. The satisfaction of our customers is proof that partnering with Kontron was the right call,' said Nick Costas, CEO, NT Fiber. This deployment is more than a technological win—it's a real-world example of how deep collaboration and trust can drive sustained success. The long-term stability of NT Fiber's network infrastructure stands as a direct reflection of Kontron's engineering focus, high-performance equipment, and service-first approach—a model that prioritizes hands-on support, rapid response, and ongoing optimization. In addition to performance and reliability, the Kontron-NT Fiber partnership reflects a growing shift toward eco-conscious broadband infrastructure. By enabling energy-efficient fiber deployments and reducing reliance on legacy copper systems, the collaboration supports a more sustainable broadband ecosystem designed to minimize environmental impact while maximizing digital reach. NT Fiber has since become an influential voice among regional providers, as its successful deployment with Kontron has helped establish confidence in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) strategies across similar markets. The performance and stability of the network, paired with hands-on support, has become a benchmark for others seeking to scale efficiently while delivering premium service levels. The collaboration between Kontron and NT Fiber demonstrates that fiber broadband deployments don't have to be complex or unreliable. With the right technology and support model, ISPs can deliver exceptional service quality from day one—and continue doing so for years to come. Looking ahead, Kontron remains committed to supporting NT Fiber's ongoing growth and innovation efforts, with plans to expand the deployment footprint and introduce even more advanced broadband capabilities across Texas and into adjacent regional communities. As the demand for high-speed, high-capacity internet accelerates, Kontron's broadband solutions continue to provide the performance, flexibility, and scalability ISPs need to meet the ever-changing landscape of this industry—while contributing to a cleaner, more resilient digital future. Ontario Airport makes major international service expansion
Ontario International Airport celebrated its largest single-day expansion of international service Thursday as Volaris announced 14 new weekly flights to three destinations in Mexico, including daily service to Los Cabos. The Mexico-based low-cost carrier, which already operates twice-daily flights between ONT and Guadalajara, will add routes to Los Cabos International Airport, León/Bajío International Airport in Guanajuato, and Morelia International Airport in Michoacan. Service to León/Bajío will run three times a week, while Morelia flights will operate four times weekly. 'Today's announcement represents the largest single-day expansion of international service in the history of our airport. It also is a testament to Ontario's decade-long partnership with Volaris in connecting Greater Ontario and Southern California with key markets in Latin America,' said Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority Board of Commissioners. The Los Cabos and Guanajuato routes are scheduled to launch July 4, while the Michoacan service will begin July 5. Flights will depart from Terminal 2 and arrive at the ONT International Arrivals Terminal, operated with Airbus A320 aircraft featuring 186 seats. Volaris executives emphasized the airline's commitment to expanding affordable travel options in and out of Mexico. With the new additions, Volaris will operate 28 weekly flights at ONT, and officials say the airline is helping to solidify Ontario as one of the primary hubs for Southern California travelers seeking direct connections to Mexico.
