OKC police: Two teens shot and killed Sunday
Two teens were killed in what appear to be unrelated shootings Sunday, according to Oklahoma City police.
Just after 3 a.m., officers responded to a shooting in an apartment complex in the 7200 block of NW 122.
While officers were on the scene, police dispatch received a call that a shooting victim, identified as Kayden Haywood, 16, had arrived at Love Family Women's Center on the campus of Mercy Hospital.
Haywood was pronounced dead at the center.
Police said it is unclear what led to the shooting. As of early Monday, there were no arrests.
About 10:43 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting call and reports of a person struck by gunfire in the 4300 block of SE 46.
Police said Jashaun Cheatom, 16, was found in a breezeway just outside of an apartment.
Cheatom was taken to OU Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, police said.
No arrests have been made.
Police said the investigations are in the early stages, but the two homicides do not appear to be linked.
'Right now, there is no evidence that the two were related,' Police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
Anyone with information related to the homicides is urged to call the Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200.
