‘Bows sweep Penn State in OUTRIGGER Invitational

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Men's Volleyball team hosted Penn State in the 2nd night of the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational. UH in set 1 controlling the frame as they finished with 10 kills and 4 service aces to take it 25-13/ In set 2, the Bows trailing late by able to tie it up at 20 a piece and come back to win the frame 25-23. The 'Bows in the 3rd set, went on a 10-0 scoring run to take a 18-8 lead. UH held on to win 25-12. 3rd-ranked Hawaii, wins in 3 straight sets against 19th-ranked Penn State. MANOA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Thousands of WarriorBall25 fans rocked the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center as the University Hawaii defeated Ball State in a straight set victory 25-19, 25-13, 29-27. 'Bows host OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational this weekend The Bows were led by freshman Bulgarian hitter Kristian Titriyski, totaling 14 kills on 25 attempts, one service ace, three digs and two blocks. Frenchmen Louis Sakanoko and Adrien Roure followed closely behind offensively. Sakanoko matched Titriyski with 14 kills, adding four blocks and one service ace to the scoreboard. Reigning Big West Setter of the Week and floor captain Tread Rosenthal led his team dishing out 36 assists, six digs and adding one service ace for himself. All the latest sports news from Hawaii's sports station Hawaii cruised through the first two sets, dominating at the net both offensively and defensively. Moving into set three, the Cardinals had their sights set on disrupting the sweep, taking an edge over the Bows 24-20 following a kill by outside hitter Braydon Savitski-Lynde. UH answered back with a 4-0 scoring run with freshman Kainoa Wade behind the service line. Both the Cardinals and the Bows traded points back and forth before a service ace by Justin Todd sealed the deal in set three, 29-27. ‘Bows host OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational this weekend

The Hawaii Men's Volleyball team hosts the OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational this weekend at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. 'We're looking to win this,' said Hawaii Freshman Kristian Titriyski The 'Bows ranked 3rd in the country are set to play 12th-ranked Ball State, 19th-ranked Penn State and 5th-ranked USC in 3 straight days. 'We play 3 really good teams, 3 wins would be really good,' said Hawaii Head Coach Charlie Wade. First game for Hawaii will be on Thursday against (12) Ball State at 7:00pm.
