Ireland suffer double blow as Campher and Young ruled out of West Indies ODI series
Ireland have been forced into making two late changes to the squad to play West Indies in three One-Day Internationals at Castle Clontarf after all-rounder Curtis Campher and seam bowler Craig Young both pulled out through injury. Campher suffered a broken finger in nets on Monday ahead of Wednesday's opening game, while Young picked up a hamstring injury while playing for North West Warriors in a recent interprovincial match against the Leinster Lightning in Oak Hill. Batter Stephen Doheny and uncapped teenager all-rounder Jordan Neill have been added to the squad, which has been hit by a number of withdrawals, with the seam attack considerably weakened. 'It's not ideal when you lose a player to injury just prior to a series, but unfortunately, both Young and Campher join a bit of a lengthy list on the rehabilitation table. Most pertinently, our seam attack is heavily impacted with Mark Adair, Graham Hume, Craig Young, Fionn Hand and Curtis Campher all out,' said national men's selector Andrew White. READ MORE 'This series will be a real test of our depth, and instead of bemoaning what we won't have, my view is that these absences provide a real opportunity for some of our up-and-coming talent to play at home against a world-class opposition.' The first of the three games gets under way at 10.45am on Wednesday morning, with further games on Friday and Sunday. The games will be shown live on TNT Sports in Ireland.

Full field of 156 is now finalized for 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow
Full field of 156 is now finalized for 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow The PGA of America announced Tuesday the first 154 golfers in the field for the 2025 PGA Championship. Sunday night, we learned who the final two names will be that will round out the full field of 156. Defending champion Xander Schauffele, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Masters champ Rory McIlroy highlight the tee sheet, but this field is stacked once again, with 29 major champions, 14 past PGA champs, three World Golf Hall of Famers and three Ryder Cup captains among those set to tee it up. As it turned out, there were actually three players who got in the PGA field on Sunday. First, past PGA Championship winner Vijay Singh withdrew from the event, and that opened the door for Michael Thorbjornsen, originally third on the alternate list, to get into the field. Then, Ryan Fox, who won the opposite-field Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic for his first PGA Tour win, earned a spot in the PGA. And when Sepp Straka won the Truist Championship, which happened just a few minutes before Fox won, the door for Victor Perez, fourth on the alternates list, to snag the 156th and final PGA spot. The Truist winner, if not already in the PGA, would have earned a spot but Straka already had one so the PGA of America went to the next person in line on the alternates list, and that was Perez. Also included are the 20 PGA Professionals, who punched their ticket last week. Included in the field of 20 PGA pros is Michael Block, who became a fan favorite at Oak Hill in 2023. So the full field is now set for Quail Hollow Club. Oak Hill the first Michael Moroney horse to race for Hayes brothers at Caulfield on Saturday
A new era will begin when Oak Hill steps out for the Hayes brothers in Saturday's Tobin Brothers Handicap at Caulfield. Oak Hill will be the first Melbourne runner to emerge from the Lindsay Park operation's absorption of the Ballymore Stables business of the late Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Mike Moroney. Moroney's partner Karen decided against taking over the business while training partner Glen Thompson opted to train in his own right, making an instant splash when winning last Saturday's Group 1 Australasian Oaks with Benagil. Co-trainer Ben Hayes said Moroney's former racing manager Anthony Feroce would play a crucial role in the transition. He said Feroce's knowledge of Moroney's former team would be a valuable asset as Lindsay Park staff get to know the influx of horses. 'They're just going into our system and they're just being transferred into our stable today,' Hayes, who trains in partnership with his brothers Will and JD, said. 'Anthony Feroce is now working for us and we'll just get to know the horses. 'It's very good that he's joining the team. 'We'll absorb them into the business and do our best to get the right results.' Oak Hill will drop in class at Caulfield following his eye-catching second to Midwest in the $500,000 Country Discovery at Echuca on Good Friday. Hayes said the four-year-old was in the perfect race on Saturday but his outing would also be a learning experience for the trainers. 'He was amazing last start when he flew home and was really impressive,' Hayes said. 'I think it will be a really good opportunity to try and get his rating up to try and target better races in the spring. 'Off his last run, you'll think he'll be hard to beat. 'It's a Benchmark 90 and he's an 86-rater so it will be the perfect race.' Hayes said the camp would undergo a process to gather information about the new arrivals before mapping out programs in the coming weeks. 'We'll just sit down, go through them and look at them ourselves and get to know them,' Hayes said. 'When we get to know the horses, we'll make those decisions.' Oak Hill has been well-backed to score on debut for Lindsay Park, firming from $3.80 to become a clear $3.10 favourite. Godolphin galloper Fleetwood has eased from $4.20 to $4.80 while speedster Shirshov, who finished second in the Country Discovery, is a $6 chance.
