Celebrity Traitors stars pictured at Inverness airport as they arrive ahead of filming

The much-anticipated filming of Celebrity Traitors has finally commenced as the star-studded cast touches down in Scotland. A host of celebrities have joined the popular BBC show, where they'll put their intuition to the test to identify the 'Traitors' among them. Several stars were spotted arriving at Inverness Airport, in pictures obtained by the Mirro r, including Jonathan Ross, Tom Daley, Charlotte Church, Stephen Fry, Alan Carr and David Olusoga, all gearing up for the start of filming this week. Other big names set to feature in the new series include Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway, rugby player Joe Marler, YouTuber Niko Omilana and actors Mark Bonnar of Line Of Duty and Shetland fame. Comedians Joe Wilkinson and Lucy Beaumont are also on board for the new series, alongside presenter Clare Balding, EastEnders actress Tameka Empson and actresses Celia Imrie and Ruth Codd. Claudia Winkleman is set to return as the host of the hit show, which debuted in the UK three years ago. The format also airs in the United States, albeit with a mix of celebrities and civilians, reports the Mirror . The seven celebrities spotted at the airport seemed in high spirits as they arrived in Scotland for filming. Each participant will be assigned either a 'Traitor' or 'Faithful' badge and must convince the others of their honesty - or their deceit. Production is already in full swing for the popular series, but the BBC has not yet announced when viewers can expect the new season to premiere. In the previous civilian series, audiences were gripped by a major plot twist with the introduction of The Seer's power, which allowed contestants to determine if their peers were Faithful or Traitors just before the finale, sparking intense gameplay and betrayal. The filming schedule for the BBC show is reportedly intense, with cast member Charlotte Chilton disclosing that they would often shoot for 17 hours a day. She confessed to spending prolonged periods with her fellow participants. "That's the hardest part. It sounds crazy - you might go 'you were only together for like 3 weeks or whatever'. But that 3 weeks, where some days like... 17 hours in a day and you're sat with those people constantly," she explained to The Mirror. She went on to say: "You talk about the weirdest things. You talk about really personal things. Lots of things that didn't make it into the episodes because they're so jam-packed and it really gives you an insight into people. "I would go as far to say I told these guys more than I've told some of my best friends because the trust you build over that time and because it's so immersive and you've got no contact with family or friends or anything, you suddenly rely on these people." The Celebrity Traitors will have to persuade their fellow entertainment and TV personalities that they are Faithful - but can they pull it off? With 20 stars participating in the brand new series, the first celebrity edition the UK has seen of the popular reality show, there's bound to be even more backstabbing and unexpected turns. So far, three series of The Traitors have aired, with the Faithfuls claiming victory in two out of three. Harry Clark bagged the entire prize money in the second series when he successfully convinced Faithful Mollie that he was one of them. In the most recent series, the Faithfuls triumphed again by managing to remove Charlotte from the group. However, winners Jake and Leanne also ousted two of their own Faithful comrades before the game concluded.
