Fort Pierce Police investigate death at home on Timber Ridge Lane

FORT PIERCE – Police on Friday are conducting an 'active death investigation' at a residence after a 911 call regarding a person with a gunshot wound, a law enforcement official said. Shortly before 11 a.m. Friday, Fort Pierce police were called to a residence in the 4400 block of Timber Ridge Lane, Maj. Michael Santiago said. Investigators found a man thought to be in his mid 20s inside with an apparent gunshot wound. 'There is no indication at this particular moment in time that anybody else is involved,' Santiago said. 'However, we're treating this as a death investigation.' The location is between Oleander Avenue and South U.S. 1, north of Tumblin Kling Road. A firearm was recovered, he said. Santiago said the person who died is believed to have lived at the residence, but police are working to determine that. Santiago said investigators, crime scene investigators and victim advocates were at the scene.
