Britney Spears Reaches A Major Milestone For The First Time In Her Career
Britney Spears hasn't released new music in years, and fans aren't expecting anything to drop anytime soon, but she still managed to have an exciting week on the charts in the United Kingdom. As one of her earliest albums returns, the singer also reaches a lofty landmark figure for the very first time, proving that her catalog remains hugely popular, even if her career is essentially inactive. Spears keeps The Singles Collection, a compilation of many of her most famous tunes, on two charts across the Atlantic. At the moment, it rises on both the Official Albums Streaming and Official Albums rankings, pushing to Nos. 53 and 64, respectively. The Singles Collection reaches 200 weeks on the Official Albums chart, the ranking of the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. The tally is compiled by the Official Charts Company, using a methodology that blends both sales and streaming activity to reflect what the nation is listening to. The compilation is the first from Spears to spend 200 frames on the competitive roster. Only one other project by Spears has managed to rack up triple-digit stays on the Official Albums chart, and it' One More Time. Her debut full-length peaked at No. 2, and it's just one frame away from hitting two full years — or 104 weeks — on the tally. Her follow-up, Oops!... I Did It Again, which also stalled in the runner-up spot, has managed 53 turns, or just over one year, on the same list. Speaking of Oops!... I Did It Again, that project can also be found on two tallies — but not the same two as The Singles Collection. The sophomore studio effort from Spears reenters the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 83, and it also manages to debut on the Official Albums Downloads list at No. 41, reaching that tally a quarter century after it was first released. Oops!... I Did It Again was recently reissued to celebrate its milestone twenty-fifth birthday. The project, which was offered digitally and on physical formats, includes special goodies like remixes and other recordings, as well as photos and special colored vinyl for those who wanted to own the set on wax.

Eminem Fans Push Several Of His Biggest Albums Back To The Charts
Eminem's music floods the U.K. charts, as Curtain Call climbs and The Eminem Show and The Marshall ... More Mathers LP return to the hip-hop tally. Cox/Getty Images) Eminem sees three different albums return to charts in the United Kingdom this week. That's quite the performance from a hip-hop superstar who rarely needs to bounce back onto these lists. He is far and away one of the most successful rappers of all time across the globe, and his domination of the U.K. rankings is near-unparalleled. Following a busy frame, which was flush with Record Store Day offerings, multiple collections by the Grammy and Oscar winner find their way back — some, interestingly, to more than one tally. Eminem sees a pair of projects return to the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart. Coming up first is The Marshall Mathers LP, which reappears at No. 34. Just a few spots beneath that title, The Eminem Show returns at No. 37. Curtain Call: The Hits is also back, but on a different list. While The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show are only present on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart, Curtain Call reenters the Official Album Downloads tally, landing at No. 96. Eminem's massively popular greatest hits set also appears on a trio of other tallies at the same time. Curtain Call maintains its placement at No. 23 on the Official Albums chart, the most competitive album ranking in the country. It dips a few slots on the Official Albums Streaming list, settling at No. 20, while rising five positions to No. 25 on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums tally. In addition to this trio of charting efforts that reappear somewhere, Eminem also sees two other full-lengths appear on U.K. rankings this week. Curtain Call 2 dips on both the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming ranking. Meanwhile, his latest full-length, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), climbs on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart. On that tally alone, Eminem occupies four spots, thanks to two comebacks and a pair of rising winners. All four of Eminem's collections that currently appear on the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart have hit No. 1 in the past, as have many of his other efforts. The Death of Slim Shady is the shortest-running winner of the bunch, with just 41 stays on the list so far — a number that's sure to grow as more time passes, since it's still relatively new – at least when compared to his earlier sets, which are still charting. The other Eminem efforts on the tally have spent more than a decade on the roster. The Eminem Show is now up to 661 weeks, while The Marshall Mathers LP has racked up 834 stays somewhere on the roster. Curtain Call stands as one of the greatest successes of all time, as it recently passed 900 appearances on this genre-specific ranking.

Three Different Beatles Albums Chart This Week — And Two Of Them Return
Three Beatles albums chart in the U.K. this week, with 1967–1970 leading the charge as several ... More classic collections show notable gains. Left to right: George Harrison (1943 - 2001), Ringo Starr, John Lennon (1940 - 1980) and Paul McCartney. (Photo by) It's almost never surprising to see The Beatles on the charts in the United Kingdom. The group remains one of the most beloved and listened-to acts in history, especially in the band's home country, where the musicians first found one another and began creating the music that would go on to define a generation. Sometimes, one tune or compilation from the group holds steady in the U.K., but this frame, a pair of best-of sets not only show up on multiple tallies, they manage to climb nearly everywhere. That's partially thanks to the fading impact of Record Store Day releases, which dominated the charts last week, but also simply because people never seem to get enough of The Beatles. This frame, three classic collections by The Beatles appear on the U.K. charts: 1962–1966, 1967–1970, and 1. Each title finds space on at least one list, though not all are moving in the same direction. Only 1 — the best-of project packed with the band's many No. 1 singles — takes a step back, dipping a few spots on the Official Albums Downloads chart. Meanwhile, 1962–1966 and 1967–1970 are on the rise. Between the two companion collections named for the years during which The Beatles' original singles were released, 1967–1970 is the top performer this frame. The set pushes back into the upper half of the Official Albums chart, jumping to No. 50 on the ranking of the most-consumed full-lengths and EPs in the nation. It also enjoys a solid boost on the Official Albums Streaming roster, climbing from No. 52 to No. 45. While 1967–1970 posts the stronger numbers overall, 1962–1966 is no disappointment either. The earlier collection, which highlights tunes released during the band's initial breakthrough years, rises from No. 98 to No. 88 on the Official Albums chart. It also lifts on the Official Albums Streaming tally, albeit by a slightly smaller margin. This time around, it moves from No. 82 to No. 77. Each of the three Beatles albums mentioned has now spent at least one year on every chart it currently lands on. The shortest span among them belongs to 1962–1966 on the Official Albums Streaming chart, where it hits 52 weeks — or exactly one year — on the tally this frame. Meanwhile, 1 continues to enjoy truly incredible staying power, as it has thus far racked up an eye-popping 235 appearances on the Official Albums Downloads list.

Post Malone's ‘Diamond' Album Is His Latest To Reach A Special Landmark
Post Malone is used to busy weeks on the charts — it's practically his norm at this point. The rapper, singer, and genre-jumper has been a regular across a variety of rankings, mostly in Western markets, for years now. But even by his own high standards, this frame is especially notable in the United Kingdom, as his only two charting successes both have reason to celebrate. Malone dropped The Diamond Collection in mid-2023 as his first compilation, a set centered around the many diamond-certified singles he's earned in the U.S. Since then, it's become something of a permanent fixture on charts all over the world. That's not too surprising, as collections packed with greatest hits tend to have incredible staying power, especially in the streaming age. The Diamond Collection hits the two-year mark on the Official Albums chart in the U.K. That's 104 weeks spent on the most important album ranking in that country. At the same time, it also reaches the same milestone on the Official Albums Streaming roster. The overlap isn't coincidental. Its strong performance on streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music is exactly what's helped it stick around for so long. Even as it celebrates two full years on the charts, The Diamond Collection continues to perform well. This frame, the compilation holds steady at No. 40 on the Official Albums chart. It even sees a bit of positive movement on the Official Albums Streaming list, lifting one spot to No. 33. That kind of consistency two years in is a testament to Malone's popularity, as well as the cross-genre appeal of the songs that made the cut. With The Diamond Collection now a 104-week veteran, it joins a growing list of Malone's albums that have shown impressive longevity in the U.K. Four of his seven charting full-lengths have now spent at least two years on the Official Albums ranking. Leading the pack is his debut Stoney, which has logged a whopping 169 frames on the tally. That's followed by Beerbongs & Bentleys with 145 weeks and Hollywood's Bleeding, which trails closely behind at 131. While The Diamond Collection extends its run, Malone also has something brand new out for fans to enjoy. His latest project, Tribute to Nirvana, enters four U.K. charts this frame. The full-length set, which honors the legendary grunge band, launches highest on the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart, where it debuts at No. 5, and it gives Malone his first-ever placement on that particular ranking. A Tribute to Nirvana also makes appearances on three other tallies. That includes a modest but meaningful debut inside the top 40 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart.

Whitney Houston Reaches A Major Milestone With A Posthumous Release
Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You – The Best Of hits 200 weeks on the U.K. albums chart, ... More marking another milestone for the legendary singer. UNITED KINGDOM - MAY 05: WEMBLEY ARENA Photo of Whitney HOUSTON, Whitney Houston performing on stage (Photo by David Corio/Redferns) Whitney Houston's music will seemingly never disappear from the consciousness of the general public – or their ears. The singles she recorded during her lifetime remain some of the most beloved of all time in the R&B and pop genres, and she's still a superstar. Every few months, there's another reminder that her catalog still resonates with millions, and a quick look at where the late singer appears on the charts in the United Kingdom provides one more such notice. Houston's I Will Always Love You – The Best Of is a regular on the Official Albums chart in the U.K., where it continues to find space, largely thanks to repeat streams of the many smashes featured on its tracklist. The compilation, which pulls together many of her biggest smashes, has become the go-to title for fans who focus their listening on one collection that features many of her classics. Like many legacy artists, Houston's plays are funneled toward a single title to help maintain visibility on the albums rankings, and that strategy is clearly working. This frame, I Will Always Love You dips slightly on both the Official Albums chart and the Official Albums Streaming ranking, but it's still present. The collection descends from No. 58 to No. 66 on the overall roster of the most-consumed full-lengths in the U.K. and also falls one spot to No. 49 on the streaming-focused tally. While I Will Always Love You is down slightly on both tallies, the bigger story is the fact that it's now spent 200 weeks on the Official Albums chart. That's an incredible achievement for any singer, and it's one that most artists, even major names, may never come close to. For Houston, this isn't uncharted territory, as the set is not her first project to reach that figure. I Will Always Love You is Houston's second title to hit that 200-week milestone. The first was The Ultimate Collection, another compilation, which has spent a staggering 386 weeks on the tally. That set hasn't appeared on the list in years, as the focus now seems to be on I Will Always Love You, but its legacy is already well established. Houston has also seen some of her early albums manage lengthy stays on the important tally. Both her self-titled debut and her second full-length Whitney crossed into triple-digit territory on the Official Albums chart, though they didn't progress much further I Will Always Love You arrived back in late 2012, just months after Houston's death. Since then, it's charted off and on, bouncing in and out of weekly rankings all around the world, depending on spikes in interest, competition and streaming activity. After more than a decade of availability, the compilation reached its peak only fairly recently, climbing to No. 13 in 2023.
