LBC journalist says 'F***ing hell' as caller brings up genocide
The incident occurred during a segment on the radio channel on Tuesday afternoon in which Fogarty takes calls from viewers to discuss the day's main topics. The caller, Oisín, raised the political context surrounding criticism of Kneecap and their statements in support of Palestinians amid Israel's brutal war on Gaza. As he referenced alleged war crimes in Gaza, calling it a 'genocide', and accusing politicians of ignoring them, Fogarty interrupted. Oisin responded: 'It's the top human rights lawyers in the world also describe it as a genocide. Many around the world also do.' Fogarty then said: 'I'm just doing my job Oisín, you describe it and I make my point as a journalist'. Naughty Shelagh Fogarty on @LBC this afternoon. The chat was around @KNEECAPCEOL and inevitably turned to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Shelagh didn't like what her caller had to say and perhaps forgot that her mic was still on? Oisín later posted on X demanding an apology from both the presenter and LBC. 'I would like an official apology from @LBC and @ShelaghFogarty for the abusive language used towards me, since they've been so big on demanding apologies all day,' he said. It doesn't appear as though Fogarty has issued a formal apology or acknowledged swearing on air. LBC have been approached for comment.
