OKCFD firefighters train on highly technical rope rescues
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma Fire Department (OKCFD) this week highlighted on Facebook its firefighters training on highly technical rope rescues.
OKCFD officials say, the TTRS Highline System is a highly technical rope rescue method used when traditional access isn't possible. The method is a system allowing crews to remove individuals using tensioned rope lines for:
large gaps
ravines
collapsed structures
OKC National Memorial & Museum 30th anniversary ceremony moved indoors
Firefighters also got an opportunity to practice controlled rappelling techniques keeping them ready for any complex rescue scenarios.
