No damages reported after Owensboro BBQ restaurant fire
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Officials confirm no damages or injuries were reported after a flue caught fire at Ole South BBQ in Owensboro. As previously reported, the fire was called in around 7:23 p.m. on Memorial Day. Daviess County, Masonville and Thurston-Philpot fire departments responded to the call. Daviess County Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Gore tells us the fire originally started in an indoor pit and made its way up the flue in the kitchen. He says this was possibly the result of the pit getting too hot while cooking. We're told crews cleared out the fire and smoke within 45 minutes. Gore says the restaurant closed for the evening and reopened on Tuesday morning. Eyewitness News. Everywhere you are. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
