Solar Bears Face Elimination After Shutout Loss To Everblades
Florida Everblades goaltender Cam Johnson is becoming accustomed to seeing zeroes on the scoreboard. Johnson pitched his 12th career post-season shutout Friday in a 3-0 Everblades road victory over the Orlando Solar Bears to take a 3-1 advantage in the South Division Finals.
Oliver Chau helped his netminder's effort by tallying two of the three goals for the Everblades, who have suffered just one loss so far this post-season.
The Everblades' offense took a while to start up, but Chau finally got his team on the board with his first goal of the postseason 3:27 into the middle frame.
That one-goal lead held into the final period until the Blades tacked on another tally. Chau added his second of the night at the 12:02 mark before Logan Lambdin closed out the scoring just 52 seconds later.
Johnson stopped all 22 Orlando shots he faced, improving to 7-1 in the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs to turn in his first clean sheet of this year's post-season.
In addition to Johnson's 12th all-time playoff shutout, the reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Year chalked up his league-record 54th postseason win.
Florida outshot the Solar Bears 31-22 in the game, matching the exact shot tally from Game 3.
The teams will be right back at it for Game Five Saturday night at Kia Center, with puck drop set for 7 Pm ET. Should Orlando force a Game Six, the contest would be played on Hertz Arena ice Monday night at 7:30 Pm ET.
