'It's amazing, the only place I would want to be is here with my girls,' said Mathews senior pitcher Olivia Matheny. 'It's a great feeling to be here.'
Matheny pitched all six innings to earn the win. She almost completed the no-hitter but gave up only one hit and no runs.
Mathews made history with the title win by being the first senior group in school history to win a district championship every year of their high school careers.
'This is the first time we've ever had a senior class win four district titles in a row, set history at Mathews,' said Mathews head coach Jim Nicula. 'It's a big emotional moment for a lot of them, and it's just tremendous.'
Badger ends the season with an overall record of 11-8. Mathews moves on in the OHSAA tournament with a record of 23-4.
Mathews advances to the Division VII Regional Semifinals next week.
