Oman, UK review bilateral relations
MUSCAT: The 16th session meeting of the Oman-UK Working Group was held in Muscat on Sunday. The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthy, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the British side was headed by Hamish Falconer, Minister of State for the Middle East. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of bilateral relations and explored means of boosting them to achieve desired objectives. Both sides discussed areas of joint cooperation in the cultural, tourism, educational, vocational training, environmental and renewable energy fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments. The meeting was attended by Munthir bin Mahfoudh al Manthiri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Abdullah bin Hamad al Riyami, Head of the Cultural Cooperation Department at the Foreign Ministry, Dr Liane Saunders, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Sultanate of Oman and several representatives of concerned government units. — ONA
