United Airlines Makes 'Record' Announcement With New Flights
Just a few days before Memorial Day, United Airlines announced it reached an agreement with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA "that will provide industry-leading wages and many other improvements for United's 28,000 flight attendants if ratified."
The contract language is still being finalized and the agreement is then subject to approval by the AFA's Master Executive Council, including all Local Presidents. "If they approve, the tentative agreement will be put out for ratification by our flight attendants," United Airlines said.
While the airline prepares to finalize its new deal, it made another major announcement. Over the weekend United announced a record travel schedule coming this fall from its Chicago O'Hare hub. In October, the airline is scheduled to fly up to 592 flights a day from O'Hare, more than any other time this year — surpassing the summer's schedule.
But that's not all. The airline also plans to add 50 additional flights in November from Chicago with service to warm-weather destinations like Phoenix, Austin and Orlando.
This fall, United will also expand and extend its service to several Latin and Caribbean destinations, including:
Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR): Extended weekend service in October
Cozumel, Mexico (CZM): Extended weekend service in November
Saint Martin (SXM): Extended weekend service in November
Guatemala City, Guatemala (GUA): Additional weekend service in October
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (PUJ): Additional weekend service in October
San José del Cabo, Mexico (SJD): Additional weekend service in October
'Building on the momentum of an anticipated-record-breaking summer, we're taking things further this fall with our busiest flight schedule of the year — adding more flights and extending service to warm-weather destinations in the U.S. and around the world,' Omar Idris, United's Vice President of O'Hare said in a statement. 'This is truly a historic time for our hometown hub of O'Hare as we're not only offering our customers the largest network from Chicago, but also new industry-leading amenities both at the airport and in the air.'
The fall growth follows a record trend for United at Chicago O'Hare as the airline prepares to fly more seats than they have in the past two decades. In July, United will fly a peak of 71,000 seats a Airlines Makes 'Record' Announcement With New Flights first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 2, 2025
