Former Carlisle United forward released by National League club
Former Carlisle United loan man Tyrese Omotoye has been released by one of the Blues' National League rivals.
The forward has been let go by Forest Green Rovers following the 2024/25 season.
Omotoye is one of six players released by the club after they missed out on promotion in the play-offs.
The former Norwich City player, 22, had been at the New Lawn for two-and-a-half years.
He only made four league appearances last season, in a total tally of 55 league outings in his time at the club.
Omotoye scored just one league goal for Forest Green, his five other strikes coming in cup competitions.
The attacker was on United's books in the second half of the 2021/22 season after joining on loan from Norwich in the January transfer window during Keith Millen's spell in charge at Brunton Park.

After impressing on his debut in a 2-0 win over Bradford City, Omotoye struggled to make further impact and 13 Carlisle outings, under Millen and Paul Simpson, produced no goals.
He had previously been on loan at Swindon Town and Leyton Orient and, after four first-team appearances for Norwich, moved on permanently to Forest Green in January 2023.
The Nailsworth side, who finished third in the fifth tier under Steve Cotterill last season, have also released Teddy Jenks, Jordon Garrick, Emmanuel Osadebe, Jamie Searle and Ben Tozer, the latter having retired.
Jordan Moore-Taylor and Fiachra Pagel have been offered new deals.
Forest Green are preparing for a second successive season in the National League, having lost to Southend United in the play-off semi-finals.
